COMME des GARÇONS HOMME and New Balance Drop ABZORB 2010 in Two Monochrome Colorways
COMME des GARÇONS HOMME and New Balance dropped the ABZORB 2010 in slate grey and ivory white on March 20, priced at ¥42,900 (~$270).

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME and New Balance released two monochrome colorways of the ABZORB 2010 on March 20 through COMME des GARÇONS HOMME stockists and select CDG retailers, priced at ¥42,900 JPY, approximately $270 USD, in unisex sizing.
The two colorways operate in the same tonal register but occupy opposite ends of the palette. The grey pair layers three or four dark shades of suede, mesh, and textured synthetics across the upper, an effect Hypebeast described as looking "like a concrete sculpture." The white option follows the same blocking logic but swaps the slate tones for white and khaki tan, with ivory nubuck leather overlays that Highsnobiety noted make it feel "clearly ready for spring." Both pairs carry the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME wordmark on the tongue and sockliner, with an embroidered CDG Homme logo on the tongue, and ABZORB cushioning underfoot. Branding elsewhere is minimal, consistent with the label's established approach to the New Balance partnership.
The New Balance 2010 debuted in May 2025 as a design homage to the 99X series, drawing lineage from the brand's legendary 900 and 1000 lines with vintage ABZORB technology built into the midsole. The silhouette has moved quickly as a collaboration canvas: KITH took an early pass at it, and it appeared in New Balance's "Grey Days" collection. Highsnobiety tracked how other collaborators have handled the platform before CDG got there: Rich Paul turned it a tasteful shade of red, Joe Freshgoods added a fuzzy upper, and WTAPS executed a military-minded makeover. COMME des GARÇONS HOMME went the other direction entirely. As Highsnobiety put it, "no collaborator has made the shoe more plainly wearable."
That plainness is the point. Highsnobiety described CDG Homme's formula plainly: "The Japanese company's most classic menswear line specializes in monochrome (typically black) New Balance sneakers with small CDG branding stamped on the tongue. It's the same approach nearly every season, because why mess with success?" The ABZORB 2010 represents a minor deviation from that template, slate grey replacing jet black, but the philosophy is unchanged. Soleretriever called the two-pack "classically CDG," and "an endlessly wearable addition to the world of quiet luxury."

The drop arrives between two other CDG x New Balance moments: the tonal New Balance 509 released for Fall/Winter 2025, and a moccasin-inspired 1890A project Hypebeast reports is still scheduled to drop later this year. During SS26 Paris Fashion Week Men's, CDG previewed collaborations across multiple footwear brands simultaneously, including ASICS and Nike alongside the 2010, but the New Balance pairing is the one consistent enough to read as a house signature.
Primary distribution for the March 20 release ran through COMME des GARÇONS HOMME stockists and CDG-affiliated retailers, both in-store and online.
