Hidden NY has taken BAPE’s loudest icon and recast it in a quieter, sharper register. The collaboration centers on two BAPE STA colorways, a patent-leather white pair and a tan suede pair, both marked by Hidden’s signature green accents and embossed H branding. It is the kind of update that gives a familiar silhouette a fresher edge without losing the swagger that made the BAPE STA a streetwear staple in the first place.

That matters because Hidden NY has spent the last few years turning itself from an anonymous Instagram moodboard launched in 2018 into one of the scene’s most watched collaborators. Its run through Clarks, Salomon and ASICS built a buyer base that pays attention to texture and restraint, not just logos. Pairing that sensibility with BAPE, the Tokyo label Nigo founded in 1993, gives the drop a built-in tension: Hidden’s understated code against a brand built on instant recognition.

The capsule goes well beyond sneakers. It also includes a sweatsuit, hats, T-shirts and a co-branded tray accessory, which pushes the release into full wardrobe territory rather than a one-item hit. That breadth should broaden the audience beyond collectors chasing the BAPE STA alone. The shoe heads will likely hone in on the patent white pair first, while Hidden’s regulars may see the tan suede version as the more wearable buy. Either way, the mix of footwear, apparel and objects is designed to keep the drop moving across price points and use cases.

Release mechanics suggest it could move quickly. The collection was set for May 2, 2026, with sales through Hidden NY, BAPE.com and BAPE retail stores, and Hidden’s private @hidden.ppf community was expected to get early access before the general release. Nice Kicks said members could buy at 12:00 p.m. EST, with the general release at 3:00 p.m. EST. Retail pricing had not been announced, but the setup already points to a fast sell-through, especially with a unisex size run and the kind of crossover appeal that reaches both Hidden loyalists and longtime BAPE buyers. Hidden has found a clean way to revive a familiar sneaker without flattening its history, and that is exactly why this one will travel.
