Pharrell's adidas VIRGINIA Vario Flat Earther Drops April 4 for $140

Where the Jellyfish floated, the Flat Earther stays grounded. That's the defining tension inside Pharrell Williams' VIRGINIA universe, and today's drop of the adidas VIRGINIA Vario Flat Earther, landing April 4 for $140, makes the contrast hard to ignore.

Pharrell framed it in those exact terms. "VIRGINIA is where it began. It started with the Jellyfish, it let you float," he said. "Now comes the VIRGINIA Vario FLAT EARTHER, the next chapter of VIRGINIA. Low profile and fitted, it's designed to keep you grounded. Stay close to the earth. Move with intention."

Pharrell and adidas shook up the sneaker scene with the introduction of the Adistar Jellyfish as part of their VIRGINIA line, with that hit silhouette making waves with its exaggerated, oversized build. Now, the duo has taken things to the other extreme, producing an ultra low-profile model. The Vario Flat Earther is, in fact, the third model to carry the VIRGINIA label, after the oversized Superstar from early 2025.

The silhouette has older roots than the branding suggests. Originally known as the Yoga Vario, the model dates back to 2004 and was rooted in mindful movement and flexibility, which feels surprisingly aligned with today's shift toward slimmer, low-profile footwear. Pharrell's influence is restrained: the only visible update comes through the "VIRGINIA" branding on the sole, replacing the original text from the 2004 version, and it appears again on the shoebox.

Both debut colorways feature a laceless upper hosting prominent Three Stripes branding that runs from the lateral toe to the medial midfoot, while adidas' classic logo appears at both the tongue and heel. The Vario Flat Earther arrives in two debut colors, both built on plush white leather across the sleek, laceless silhouette. Hypebeast lists the two dropping today as Cloud White/Core Green/Cloud White (SKU: KI7669) and Cloud White/Core Black/Cloud White (SKU: KI7668). Four colorways of the Pharrell Williams x adidas VIRGINIA Vario Flat Earther have been revealed in total: black/white, blue/white, white/black, and white/green.

At $140, the Vario Flat Earther is priced identically to the Jellyfish, keeping the VIRGINIA line's entry point consistent even as the silhouette philosophy flips entirely. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $140. The shoe is available today through adidas.com and select regional retailers, with a pre-launch draw also running through Pharrell's Black Yacht Rock site ahead of the wider release.

For a line that launched with something gravity-defying, grounding the VIRGINIA universe in a 22-year-old yoga silhouette is a confident swing. The Flat Earther earns its name.
