RIER x Salomon dropped their Spring/Summer 2026 capsule on March 5, delivering two silhouettes in full optic white: the XA Jungle high-cut boot (SKU: L454406) and the XA Pro 3D trail runner (SKU: L492754), priced between £145 and £225 (roughly $193 to $300) on the Salomon website and select retailers. Dover Street Market got the collection two days early, on March 2, before the global rollout.

This is the third time the two brands have linked up, and arguably the most complete version of what RIER founder Andreas Steiner has been building toward with Salomon. Steiner doesn't pretend the color choice is obvious. Speaking about the capsule, he called it "almost counter-intuitive" to render "highly utilitarian shoes in such a candid, straightforward, clean colour," acknowledging the strangeness of painting "a rugged tactical boot used by militaries in humid environments in crisp, stainable white." That tension is exactly the point.

The XA Jungle has been in RIER's orbit since the brand's debut Salomon collaboration two years ago, when Steiner introduced it in slate grey. A muted tan mid-top followed. Now, the high-top arrives in full white, its lacing construction drawing from traditional alpine mountain clothing and, more specifically, the silhouette of knee-high wool socks worn during alpine festivities. The upper combines refined textiles and synthetics over a sturdy rubber outsole, built with quick-drying materials so the boot functions in the wet conditions its military-adjacent design was originally engineered for.

The XA Pro 3D completes what Highsnobiety called "the holy trinity of rugged Rier shoes," bringing a low-top sneaker into the lineup for the first time. Where the XA Jungle reads as a boot reimagined for fashion, the XA Pro 3D sneakerizes the tactical language into trail-runner form, matching the all-white monochrome of its taller counterpart. It runs Salomon's 3D Advanced Chassis for stability and movement control, Sensifit's wrap-around support system for precise foot lockdown, and Quicklace for single-pull adjustment. The fast-drying upper is a practical detail: no waterlogged shoes or wet socks when you hit a puddle mid-run.

The campaign, shot by Alessandro Furchino Capria in Vienna, frames both silhouettes against the city's stone-grey architecture. The white shoes against Vienna's monochrome streetscape wasn't accidental styling. RIER's entire premise with Salomon has been to strip Salomon's typically vivid trail palette back to something quieter, letting the technical construction of the silhouettes carry the visual weight. Three collaborations in, that restraint has produced the most complete version of the concept yet.
