UNIQLO's UT line hit its March 16 launch date with the first wave of the Manga UT SHUEISHA 100th Anniversary Collection: 22 graphic tees spanning 11 series, all priced at 1,990 yen (roughly $13 USD), available through UNIQLO's online store and physical locations starting mid-morning ET.

This initial wave is the opening move in a much longer play: UNIQLO plans to release approximately 100 different designs across the collaboration over the next two years. The collection is pegged to a genuine milestone. Shueisha is renowned globally as the home of Weekly Shonen Jump and Young Jump, magazines that have birthed some of the most successful comic franchises in history. A hundred years of that catalog, distilled into a $13 cotton tee, is a genuinely absurd value proposition.

Representing Weekly Shonen Jump are motifs from Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, Saint Seiya, KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops, Kinnikuman, and Captain Tsubasa. The lineup also bridges demographic gaps by including Seinen hits like the historical adventure Golden Kamuy and the sci-fi thriller GANTZ, alongside Shonen staples. Rurouni Kenshin rounds out the explicitly confirmed titles in the first batch, with the maroon colorway on that particular shirt reportedly matched to the shade of protagonist Kenshin's kimono, and a second design referencing his crossed facial scars.

The design approach across the 22 shirts is deliberately varied. Some lead with full chest artwork; others play it quiet on the front and save the bigger visuals for the back, which means these read as wearable in contexts where a giant anime print might otherwise clock as cosplay. That restraint is actually a smart move for mainstream penetration.

New styles are already confirmed to arrive May 14 mid-morning ET, which lines up with the broader three-wave structure UNIQLO has built into the collaboration. There's no official word yet on what titles the second and third installments will pull from, but given that the full first lineup spans GANTZ, Captain Tsubasa, Kingdom, Kinnikuman, KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops, Golden Kamuy, Jujutsu Kaisen, Saint Seiya, Hunter x Hunter, YuYu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin, the Shueisha bench runs deep enough to sustain momentum through 2027. Series like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball represent obvious targets for future drops, though UNIQLO has made no official announcement on upcoming titles.

A special edition of UT magazine features exclusive interviews with the Editors-in-Chief of Weekly Shonen Jump and Weekly Young Jump, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes at the people who help shape the stories. Print copies landed at UNIQLO Global Flagship Stores in early March.

At $13 a shirt, the pricing sits well below the typical streetwear collab premium, and closer to UNIQLO's standard UT graphic tee range. That accessibility is part of the point: this collection is built for volume and cultural reach, not resale arbitrage.
