Two days from now, 433 N. Fairfax Ave becomes the first place on earth to shop the Astro Boy × VANDYTHEPINK® capsule, and if the demand for Virginia-based designer Vandy's past drops is any indication, the line will wrap the block before 11 a.m.

Complex LA is hosting the one-day pop-up on March 14, 2026, doors open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT, with a panel featuring Vandy scheduled for 1 p.m. The full collection hits onvandylab.org on March 17 at 12 p.m. ET, but the in-person crowd gets first access to everything, including pieces that won't exist outside this event.

The collection itself earns the hype. Korean designer Junghoon Son, the creative force behind VANDYTHEPINK, built the capsule around Osamu Tezuka's classic character with genuine intention rather than a quick badge slap. The brand's signature red and blue flower motifs bleed into a white tee alongside Astro Boy imagery. A reversible flannel jacket and a staple blue jersey round out the cleaner end of the range. Then there's the acid wash hoodie, which features Astro Boy alongside his loyal dog companion Jump, the kind of specific character detail that separates a real collab from a licensing deal. Accessories carry the Astro Boy face peeking through the VANDYTHEPINK logo across caps, beanies, a rug, a tote bag, and a sticker pack.

The event exclusive that will move fastest: a limited ASTRO BOY collectible figure dressed in its own VTP jersey. Art toys signed by Vandy will also be available at the pop-up. No edition sizes or pricing have been announced, but Complex is flagging limited quantities across the board and strongly encouraging early arrival. An RSVP is available but does not guarantee entry.

The panel at 1 p.m. gives shoppers a reason to stick around beyond the merch scramble. Complex lists Vandy as the speaker; a separate report cites both Vandy and 1TYM Danny as participants. Either way, it's a rare chance to hear directly from the designer about what Tezuka's 1952 manga creation means to a streetwear brand operating out of Virginia in 2026.

For anyone who can't make the Fairfax pilgrimage, the online drop lands March 17 at noon ET on onvandylab.org. But the collectible figure and signed art toys are in-person only, and that flannel isn't going to feel the same on a product page.
