YOASOBI and ASICS Unite for GEL-KINETIC FLUENT Y Capsule Collection

The GEL-KINETIC FLUENT Y (style no. 1203A837, ¥39,600 tax included) landed March 19 via the ASICS online store, YOASOBI's online store, ASICS FLAGSHIP HARAJUKU, and ASICS GRAND FRONT OSAKA, with an additional lottery sale open to paid members of YOASOBI's official fan club, YOA'S.

Built on the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT silhouette and reworked in collaboration with ASICS SportStyle, the sneaker draws its upper construction from the GEL-KAYANO 14 and layers in details that read less like brand placement and more like a small biography of the duo. A "Y" engraving sits at the toe as a direct nod to YOASOBI's name. A tube-shaped component embedded with the phrase "JUST A LITTLE STEP" runs through the construction, and a clear drawstring cord flows through the laces and frames the toe box with the same phrase in small, subtle lettering. At the heel, a bookmark-shaped tag references the storytelling-driven creative process that defines YOASOBI's output as a unit. A functional quick-release drawcord at the heel adds the one piece of pure utility to an otherwise narrative-heavy design.

The concept anchors itself in "Mou Sukoshi Dake," the YOASOBI song whose English title gives the collaboration its throughline: the idea that a small step in daily life can trigger movement in both mind and body. YOASOBI members Ayase and Ikura were involved from concept through product development, working directly with ASICS designers and engineers rather than serving as passive licensors.

Three colorways were released: Black/Black (001), Piedmont Grey/Pure Silver (020), and Midnight/Dragon Fruit (400), the last of which pairs a deep navy base with a vivid fruit-pink accent that makes the clearest case for the shoe as a statement piece rather than a daily runner. Sizes run from 22.5 to 30.5 in standard half-size increments.

The six-piece capsule surrounding the sneaker includes a knit jacket, knit pants, a hoodie, a logo cap, and logo socks, all carrying a special collaborative logo that merges the ASICS SportStyle mark with YOASOBI's own branding. The apparel palette echoes the footwear, working through black, white, purple, and Port Royal, with a tracksuit offered in both black and deep burgundy. Track jacket and pants feature zippered sides, and dual-branded tags appear throughout, including a small YOASOBI label on the back collar of outerwear pieces.

ASICS FLAGSHIP HARAJUKU hosted a dedicated in-store display from March 14 through March 29, blending the visual language of both brands in a space designed to give the collaboration physical context before and after the drop date. A campaign film featuring Ayase and Ikura accompanied the launch, adding moving image to a collection that was clearly designed with a specific audience in mind: fans who already know every lyric to "Mou Sukoshi Dake" and streetwear consumers who have been watching the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT silhouette build momentum through collaborations with AIREI and others. The combination of those two groups, united by a bookmark on a heel tab, is precisely the kind of crossover ASICS SportStyle has been engineering for the past several seasons.
