Friendship got a very wearable form this spring. runDisney and Brooks unveiled a limited-edition Disney duos shoe collection built around Walt Disney World Resort’s Springtime Surprise Weekend, giving Disney adults, runners and race-weekend regulars a gift that feels equal parts collectible and practical.

The 2026 Springtime Surprise Weekend ran April 16-20 at Walt Disney World Resort, with the theme centered on friendship and iconic Disney duos. The Brooks shoes went on sale Thursday, April 16, the first day of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which makes the drop especially useful for travelers mapping out a race-weekend splurge or an early-spring present with a deadline attached.

This year’s lineup includes five limited-edition styles, with two brand-new duo-inspired designs and three returning fan favorites. The newest headliner is the Glycerin 23 Genie at $185, a higher-end pick in the group and the most obviously gift-worthy for someone who wants the loudest Disney reference. Its metallic outsole finishes and Genie detail on the heel give it more of a collector’s feel than a standard training shoe. The rest of the collection lands at $170 each: a Ghost 17 Winnie the Pooh/Tigger pair with honeycomb and honey-pot details, a Ghost 17 Chip ’n Dale pair with contrasting black and red stitching and a fuzzy tongue, and a Ghost 17 Mickey Mouse pair with a tufted Mickey silhouette on the heel and a raised knit Brooks path along the side.

For gift buyers, the appeal is in how sharply each design targets a different kind of fan. The Pooh and Tigger pair is the softest, most nostalgic option. Chip and Dale is the most playful and graphic. Mickey Mouse is the safest crowd-pleaser, especially for someone who already wears Brooks and wants Disney without going full costume. The Genie design is the most visually dramatic and the closest thing here to a statement sneaker.

The purchase rules matter too. runDisney set a first-day limit of two of each design, or 10 pairs total, per adult purchaser, a notable jump from the 2025 Springtime Surprise Brooks release, which capped buyers at one of each design, or four pairs total. That change alone makes this year’s drop feel more accessible to race-weekend families, gift shoppers and collectors who like to coordinate pairs across a group.

The Brooks-runDisney partnership, announced in October 2024, made Brooks the official running shoe of runDisney starting in 2025 under a multi-year agreement that also includes Disney-themed running shoes and official race shirts for every runDisney race weekend. For anyone planning ahead, the timing is the story: these shoes are not just merch, they are a date-specific gift with a built-in event calendar, and that makes them feel rarer than most branded collaborations.
