Valentino Beauty adds giftable Born in Roma hair and body mists
Valentino Beauty is taking Born in Roma lighter and more giftable with a $49 hair-and-body mist. The June launch leans into summer wear, layering and Gen Z-friendly portability.

Valentino Beauty is betting that the smartest fragrance gift this summer will not be a full bottle of perfume. Its new Born in Roma Hair & Body Mists, priced at $49 for 100ml, are designed to give the label’s most recognizable scent franchise a softer, more portable entry point when the weather heats up and the occasion calls for something easy, not overpowering.
The mists will arrive in June 2026, with a preview on the Sephora app on June 10 and a national rollout on June 17 at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and Dillard’s. Valentino Beauty says the formats are meant for both hair and skin, which makes them feel especially useful for gym bags, carry-ons, dorm rooms and any gifting moment where a full eau de parfum can feel like too much commitment. That is the point: this is fragrance as something you can mist on casually, reapply freely and layer without thinking twice.

The collection comes in four gourmand-inspired scents: Golden Coconut, Caramel Crush, Vanilla Bliss and Salty Pistachio. The bottle is colorful and fully studded, a visual nod to Valentino Beauty’s couture codes that makes the product look more like a keepsake than a basic body spray. The brand is also pushing layering as part of the pitch, pairing Born in Roma Donna Eau de Parfum with Vanilla Bliss and Born in Roma Donna Yellow Dream Eau de Parfum with Golden Coconut. That makes the mists feel less like an add-on and more like a low-stakes way to stretch a fragrance wardrobe.
The timing makes sense. Born in Roma has ranked in the top three for prestige female and male fragrances in the United States consistently over the past ten months, according to Valentino Beauty, and fragrance continues to do the heavy lifting for luxury beauty. L’Oréal Luxe said fragrance sales grew 14% in 2024, while Circana reported that fragrance was the fastest-growing prestige beauty category in the United States that year and that mini and travel-size formats kept gaining ground in 2025. In other words, the market is already telling brands that consumers want scent in easier, more giftable forms.
For the friend who loves sweet scents but does not want to wear a heavy perfume to brunch, for the college student who wants something chic enough for a first apartment vanity, or for anyone who likes Valentino but wants a lower-commitment buy, Born in Roma Hair & Body Mists hit the sweet spot. They are still clearly luxury, just with the volume turned down for warm weather and real life.
