Prada has turned the Bonnie into more than a seasonal refresh. The east-west bag, first shown in the spring 2024 collection, is back in blush pink, muted blue, white, tan-and-beige and white-linen versions, and the timing is sharp: Bella Hadid carried the extra-large Bonnie in Milan, Sarah Pidgeon was seen with the medium size in the same city, and Selena Gomez was photographed with a Prada Bonnie in Los Angeles. That kind of visibility matters. In luxury, a bag becomes giftable when it looks current on the street and still plausible six months later.

The Bonnie has the sort of shape that gives it staying power. Slim buckle details and two long handles keep it clean, while the east-west silhouette makes it feel easier to wear than a more sculptural statement bag. Prada describes it as blending creativity and functionality, which is exactly why it works as a special-occasion gift rather than a one-night fashion flourish. The spring 2024 women’s show that introduced it, staged during Milan Fashion Week on September 21, 2023, leaned into craft and technique, and the Bonnie fits that mood: polished, precise and deliberately not overdesigned.

The new colorways sharpen the shopping decision. Blush pink is the most giftable, especially for a birthday, engagement or new-mother moment, because it feels celebratory without reading juvenile. Muted blue is the quietest and most versatile, the kind of shade that can move from denim to tailoring without shouting for attention. White and white-linen are the most seasonal, and the most likely to draw the eye of someone who wants a bag that signals spring immediately. Tan-and-beige is the safest long-term choice, especially if the recipient already lives in neutrals and wants one bag that works with everything from cashmere to crisp cotton.

Prada is also pushing the Bonnie across a meaningful size range, from mini to extra-large. The medium leather version is priced at $4,300 CAD, which places it firmly in the serious-gift category, while the extra-large leather style on Prada’s U.S. site and the roomier formats suggest the brand wants this to function as a daily carry, not just a logo moment. That is the real appeal here: the Bonnie is being positioned as an It bag, but one with enough utility and restraint to outlast the first flush of spring.
