Studio Underd0g’s 02 Series Gen2 adds thinner case and longer reserve

Studio Underd0g launched the 02SERIES Gen2 on July 7, 2026, tightening its cult field watch into a 37.5mm case that measures 11.5mm thick and pricing it at US$1,200. The second generation keeps the same offbeat British character that made the original a collector favorite, but it now looks and wears like the version many buyers wanted the first time around.

The clearest upgrade is practical. The original 02SERIES, which debuted in October 2023, ran on a Sellita SW210-1 with about a 42-hour power reserve and came in a 37mm case that was roughly 12.0mm thick. Gen2 stretches that reserve to about 65 hours, a meaningful improvement for anyone who does not want to wind a watch every morning. The case is slightly larger on paper, but thinner on the wrist, and the minute track has been pulled inward while the hands were shortened to sharpen legibility. That is the sort of adjustment that turns a charming idea into a watch you can actually wear every day.

The design also feels more deliberate. Pink Lem0nade and Steffany Blue return, while Full Mo0n and Midnight make way for Nightshade and Red L0lly. The new purple and red dials use the brand’s later deep-color sapphire tinting technique, the same visual treatment seen on the Fears collaboration Manhattan, which deepens the sunburst effect and gives the watch more presence than the first generation. Studio Underd0g is still working from the WWII-era Dirty Dozen field-watch language, but the Gen2 looks less like a concept piece and more like a finished answer.

That matters because Richard Benc built Studio Underd0g from a 2020/2021 start into one of Britain’s most watched independent watch brands, with production reportedly around 14,000 watches last year. Sellout releases and collaborations such as the Fears Gimlet and Manhattan pushed the label from niche curiosity to mainstream collector shorthand, and the 02SERIES Gen2 extends that momentum. It is the right gift for the design-savvy recipient who wants a watch with real personality, a serious upgrade in wearability, and enough scarcity and brand heat to feel special without tipping into the predictable. The watch is being sold through the brand’s online shop and select retailers, including Time+Tide, with the cleaner case and longer reserve doing exactly what a luxury gift should do: remove hesitation.
