At $49 for 100 ml, Valentino Beauty’s Born in Roma Hair & Body Mists land in a sweet spot that luxury gifting often misses: they feel branded and fashion-led without asking for full-fragrance money. The new line arrives as a more portable extension of Born in Roma, the 2019 franchise built around Rome, self-expression and Valentino’s Aristo-Punks identity.

Claudia Marcocci, global president of Valentino Beauty at L’Oréal, made the strategy plain: “We’re not launching a flanker, but a new category, which is very different.” That distinction matters. A flanker usually reads as a marketing spin on an existing scent. These mists are positioned as a separate entry point, aimed at younger shoppers who already layer fragrances on their own and want a house-made version of that habit.

The collection centers on four gourmand-leaning scents: Golden Coconut, Caramel Crush, Vanilla Bliss and Salty Pistachio. Sephora describes Vanilla Bliss as an ambery gourmand with creamy milk accord, Damascena rose and vanilla bourbon, which gives the range a more contemporary dessert note than a classic floral mist. Valentino Beauty is also pairing the launch with a Valentino Summer Fair campaign, using fairground imagery to push the idea of play rather than formality.

For gifting, the appeal is obvious. Hair-and-body mists are lower-risk than eau de parfum, and that makes them useful for birthdays, graduations and “just because” gifts when you want the name on the bottle to do some of the work. The studded bottle, which pays tribute to Valentino’s Rockstud code, adds the kind of shelf presence that helps a gift feel considered the moment it is unwrapped.

The rollout is staggered. The mists will preview on the Sephora app on June 10, go online June 11, and arrive in stores June 25, 2026. PR Newswire says the national U.S. launch is set for June 17 at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and Dillard’s, a timing pattern that suggests Valentino Beauty is testing demand across channels while keeping the product easy to sample. That is smart in a market where Mintel says social media micro-trends and discovery sets are accelerating fragrance sampling, especially among Gen Alpha and Gen Z shoppers looking for recognizable prestige scents without overspending.

Valentino Beauty is also steering the line toward layering, suggesting Born in Roma Donna Eau de Parfum with Vanilla Bliss and Born in Roma Donna Yellow Dream with Golden Coconut. That makes the mists feel credible as a first Valentino gift, not just a diluted add-on. They are light enough to wear alone, specific enough to collect, and priced low enough to invite a second purchase, which is often the real luxury test for a new fragrance category.
