Oscars swag bags include a custom prenup among luxury gifts

A custom prenup was tucked into this year’s Oscars nominee gift bags, alongside a luxury villa stay in Ibiza and a body-sculpting liposuction experience, turning the annual swag spectacle into a showcase for hyper-specific luxury. Distinctive Assets handed the bags to the top 25 acting and directing nominees, including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Jessie Buckley, Kate Hudson, Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi, Elle Fanning, Teyana Taylor, Delroy Lindo, Josh Safdie and Emma Stone.

The company said the 2026 bags were independently produced and not affiliated with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, a distinction it has made for years as it has created the nominee gift bags for 24 straight years. This year’s package leaned hard into experiences over objects. Distinctive Assets listed a luxury Costa Rican villa experience, Ancestry’s custom VIP Family History Experience, a Danucera Sculpt & Lift facial, a smile makeover package from Beverly Hills Dental Arts, ultra-secure cryptocurrency storage from Ballet Gold Edition and products from brands including Asia Luggage, OOFOS, GLYMATE, HydroJug, Instytutum, SkinnyDipped, Tea Forte, Flaus, On The Nose Perfumes, MEBO x Glymate, Beekeeper’s Naturals, BENU and Suavecito Tequila.

E! put the estimated value of the 2026 bag at $346,000, while saying the physical items themselves were worth about $6,000 and that much of the total came from redeemable experiences. That split tells the real story of the bag: the headline value now comes from bespoke services, not from a pile of luxe objects. A custom prenup, a villa for up to 16 guests in Ibiza, tequila, chocolate-covered almonds and wine glasses read less like a grab bag than a catalog of private moments built for one very specific kind of celebrity life. E! also noted that recipients who redeem taxable experiences may owe taxes on the value.

Lash Fary, who founded Distinctive Assets, said the gifts are meant to recognize nominees while spotlighting small businesses, minority-owned brands, female entrepreneurs and companies that give back. That framing gives the over-the-top package a clearer purpose than pure excess. It also shows where high-end gifting is moving: toward gifts that feel custom-made, story-driven and easy to personalize, even when the “gift” is really an experience. CNBC reported that the 2025 bag was worth more than $200,000, the 2024 bag nearly $180,000 and the 2023 bag nearly $125,000, a steady climb that makes the custom prenup feel less like a punchline than the clearest sign of where luxury gifting is headed.
