Walk airside through Auckland Airport's international departures on March 31 and something was different: Victoria's Secret had returned to New Zealand, opening the brand's only domestic retail presence with a live fragrance engraving service that ran from 1pm to 5pm and turned a duty-free stop into a same-day personalised gift.

The new boutique is categorically different from what came before. The brand's earlier New Zealand presence, operated by LS Travel Retail Pacific from September 2015, was a 77-square-metre beauty and accessories concept that closed in mid-2019 when its licence expired. What opened on March 31 is a full-format store stocking the Spring/Summer 2026 collection across lingerie, sleepwear, accessories, swimwear, beauty, and fragrance, including the newly updated Very Sexy Eau de Parfum and the signature Bombshell Eau de Parfum. It is the only Victoria's Secret store in the country.

For travellers who wanted more than a bottle off the shelf, the engraving activation offered instant personalisation on opening day. Anyone planning a return visit with a similar gift in mind should confirm directly with the boutique whether the service has been extended, which fragrance lines qualify, and what character limit applies to the engraving.

Launch pricing added a further incentive for the gift buyer: four pairs of underwear for NZ$55 (31 percent off retail), three Mist fragrances for NZ$72 (also 31 percent off), and two Prestige mists and lotions for NZ$70 (22 percent off). A 10 percent storewide discount ran from opening day through April 14.

The opening is a direct consequence of Lagardère Travel Retail winning an eight-year duty-free concession at Auckland Airport through a worldwide competitive tender, announced in March 2025 and operational from July 1, 2025. Cyril Letocart, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail New Zealand, called Victoria's Secret "a perfect fit for travellers seeking to enhance their journey with a premium shopping experience." Helly Ding, the brand's Vice President of Travel Retail, framed Auckland as a strategic marker: "The Asia-Pacific region is an exciting area of growth for Victoria's Secret, and this opening is a major milestone as we continue to expand our global footprint."

The Victoria's Secret store is the opening move in the most comprehensive overhaul of Auckland Airport's duty-free estate in eight years. Major refurbishment works began in January 2026 and will continue in phases throughout the year, alongside recent additions including Boh Runga Jewellery, Aotea natural skincare, and UGG Express. Lucy Thomas, Head of Retail at Auckland Airport, described the opening as "the first of many exciting openings, with further brands to be announced throughout the year." The airport handles more than nine million international passengers annually, a volume that makes the airside corridor one of the region's more consequential retail environments.
