John Lewis MyJL members get Summer Beauty Box with Laneige and Augustinus Bader
John Lewis is tying its Summer Beauty Box to MyJL membership and £200 beauty spend, with Laneige, Clinique, Medik8 and Augustinus Bader among the names inside.

John Lewis has set a high bar for its next beauty-box play: My John Lewis members will need to spend £200 or more on beauty to unlock the Summer Beauty Box, a gift-with-purchase loaded with Laneige, Clinique, Elemis, Dermalogica, Medik8 and Augustinus Bader.
The appeal is not just the labels, but the maths. My John Lewis membership is free and already comes with personalised offers, members-only events and seasonal beauty boxes, while the current MyJL beauty offer gives 15% off selected beauty with code MYJLBEAUTY15 until 13 July. For shoppers already restocking staples, that combination can make the box feel less like a gimmick and more like a bonus layered on top of spending they were going to do anyway.

The strongest value sits in the contents that are full size. Beauty Detective says the line-up includes Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment in 12g, Clinique High Impact Mascara, Sculpted by Aimee Liquid Lights Liquid Blush, Medik8 Daily Radiance Vitamin C C-Tetra Cream 50ml and Trinny London Eye2Eye. Those are the kinds of products that can justify a higher threshold because they are the pieces you actually finish, not just dab once and forget.
The box also leans into premium skincare, which is where John Lewis tends to be most convincing. The list includes Elemis Pro-Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser 30ml, Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13g, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 75ml, Augustinus Bader The Eye Patches and Initio Side Effect EDP 5ml, plus a L’Occitane Almond Hand Cream sample. Medik8’s 50ml cream is the clear heavyweight here, with a stated worth of £60 on its own, making it the sort of inclusion that can tip the box from pleasant extra to genuinely useful.
John Lewis has been building this kind of seasonal beauty ecosystem for a while. Its Summer Heroes Box was priced at £75 and described as worth £235, with brands including Sisley-Paris, Grown Alchemist, TOCCA, MAC and Trinny London. The retailer also runs straightforward gift-with-purchase mechanics, including a Clinique offer that gives shoppers the Foundation Prep & Prime Beauty Set for £25 when they spend £50 or more on Clinique.
That makes the Summer Beauty Box best suited to the shopper already halfway through a legitimate restock, especially someone buying skincare and makeup in one basket. For a one-off splurge, £200 is steep. For a planned beauty haul built around names like Augustinus Bader, Laneige and Medik8, it is the kind of threshold that can turn necessary spending into a well-edited gift.
