Paradise Valley’s newest pickleball stop opened with seven courts, but the bigger story is everything wrapped around them: a rooftop resort-style pool deck, LifeSpa, Kids Academy, hydrotherapy suites, a dedicated recovery space, LifeClinic chiropractic care, LifeCafe and a Life Time Work Lounge. Life Time Paradise Valley opened April 30 as a 91,000-square-foot luxury athletic country club, giving local players a new indoor-outdoor-style member hub built for more than a quick court booking.

For amateur pickleball, the opening shows where premium-club growth is heading. The courts arrive inside a broader fitness and social package, the kind of setup that keeps members on site for training, recovery, work and family time instead of a single game. Life Time said Paradise Valley is its eighth location in the Phoenix-Scottsdale metro, a sign that the company sees the Valley as a real testing ground for how pickleball fits into a full-service club model.

The club sits inside the PV mixed-use development on the former Paradise Valley Mall site, a redevelopment Life Time is building with RED Development. Phase two is set to add Life Time Living Paradise Valley, a 327-unit apartment community expected in 2027. The residences and club will be linked by a pedestrian bridge, and each home will include a Signature Membership with access to Life Time destinations nationwide. That makes the pickleball courts part of a larger living-and-membership pitch, not just a standalone amenity.

The timing also underscores how quickly racquet sports are becoming central to club expansion. Life Time’s next Arizona opening, Life Time Ocotillo in Gilbert, is scheduled for May 4, 2026. That club will be even larger at 102,000 square feet and will feature 14 pickleball courts and six outdoor tennis courts, along with indoor and outdoor pools and a beach-club-style pool deck. With Ocotillo, Life Time said Arizona will have nine locations.

For players, the immediate takeaway is simple: more courts, more programming potential and more places where pickleball is being treated as a year-round member draw. For the broader market, Paradise Valley is another sign that the sport’s next phase is not just about adding courts anywhere there is space. It is about premium clubs using pickleball to anchor major fitness expansions, residential development and a higher-priced version of everyday play.
