Picklr Cronulla Opens 11-Court Indoor Hub With AI Coaching in Sutherland Shire
Picklr Cronulla's 11-court Caringbah hub brings Wingfield AI shot-tracking to a region where one pickleball club grew from 100 to 650 members in two years.

The Sutherland Shire Pickleball Club had fewer than 100 members two years ago. It now counts more than 650, placing it among the three largest pickleball clubs in New South Wales. That kind of growth puts pressure on courts, and the launch of Picklr Cronulla's 11-court indoor complex at 7 Box Road, Caringbah is sized to absorb it.
TPM Partners, holding a franchise agreement with The Picklr, secured development approval from Sutherland Shire Council to convert a Box Road warehouse into what the company describes as Australia's first purpose-built, membership-based, premium indoor pickleball facility. The flagship club operates 11 cushioned indoor courts supporting concurrent leagues, structured clinics, and open play sessions, while the all-weather design removes the scheduling unpredictability that has long frustrated Sydney players who rely on outdoor courts through summer heat and winter wet spells.
The technology layer is where Picklr Cronulla separates from a standard court hire arrangement. The facility runs Wingfield, an AI-powered tracking system The Picklr developed over 18 months through a multi-year exclusive partnership. On court, Wingfield's camera setup records sessions in real time, measuring shot placement, ball speed, and height over the net across all six core shot categories: serve, return, drive, drop, volley, and dink.
The entry point for a new player is the Wingfield Assessment, a standardized 24-shot evaluation that delivers a data profile of serve consistency, return depth, and volley accuracy from the very first visit. There is no coach's rough estimate of your level: the output integrates directly with DUPR, pickleball's global rating platform, producing an objective skill rating from day one. For intermediate players, Match Mode extends the technology to live game play, recording and analyzing match footage alongside shot statistics so players can compare their on-court decisions with their actual performance data.

In North American Picklr clubs, the Wingfield AI coaching add-on is priced at USD $29.99 per month, giving members unlimited access to the system. A single traditional group clinic at most facilities costs a comparable figure for one session. The practical difference is volume: members can run AI-tracked drill sets before or after open play on any visit, compressing a feedback loop that conventional coaching delivers once a week at best.
The indoor court count addresses a more prosaic but equally pressing problem. Eleven dedicated courts mean available play time on weekday mornings, lunchtimes, and evenings regardless of weather. League registrations, coaching blocks, and social games become actual calendar commitments rather than weather-dependent maybes, which for Shire players who have managed outdoor cancellations through the wet season carries real daily-life weight.
Picklr Cronulla is the first of 50 planned ANZ locations The Picklr confirmed in July 2025, a rollout targeting 44 sites across Australia and six in New Zealand. With Caringbah carrying the flagship designation, the brand has chosen one of Sydney's fastest-growing pickleball communities as its proof of concept for what purpose-built, tech-enabled indoor play can look like at scale on this side of the Pacific.
