Picklr Opens 40,000-Square-Foot, 12-Court Indoor Pickleball Club in Albuquerque
The Picklr opened a 40,000-square-foot, 12‑court indoor club in northeast Albuquerque, giving players year-round courts, junior development and founders memberships that span all Picklr locations.

The Picklr celebrated the grand opening of its Albuquerque club Saturday, converting the former Conn’s Furniture store at 48 Hotel Circle NE into a 40,000-square-foot, climate-controlled pickleball facility. Dozens of local players put on their athletic wear and picked up their paddles to try the new courts during an 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. opening event.
The Picklr-Albuquerque East houses 12 indoor courts, including five championship courts, plus locker rooms with showers, an on-site pro shop and space for private events and meetings. Organizers framed the venue as a place for year-round play and community programming for players of all ages. The grand opening featured free open play, a chance to play with a professional pickleball player, catered food and drink, kids’ face-painting, raffles and prizes.
The club rolled out membership options aimed at both serious players and families. A pre-opening unlimited membership at the "founders membership" price was being offered, and that plan grants access to all The Picklr locations. The Picklr also launched a junior membership that the company says will give kids aged 8 and up a "pathway to pro" with unique instruction. Specific pricing and schedule details were not provided at the event.
The Picklr is a franchise based in Kaysville, Utah that, the company says, "boasts 500 clubs nationwide" and is looking to expand further in New Mexico. Local organizers emphasized accessibility as a core selling point; Marty Garcia, chief operating officer of The Picklr, put it this way: "Pickleball is a sport we feel is created for all abilities, all ages. Why do we say that? It is played on a court much smaller than tennis. You use a whiffleball, so it allows for the ability to react in a different way, so it is great for someone who does not have their athletic mobility that maybe other sports would require."

For regular players, the new indoor space addresses the winter-weather squeeze and court availability that have driven many communities to add facilities. For parents, the junior program promises a structured development route, while social players gain access to multiple courts, events and private rental space for mixers or fundraisers.
What comes next is a calendar of programs and leagues that will determine how the space integrates into Albuquerque’s growing pickleball scene. Players interested in drop-in play or the founders offer can visit the club at 48 Hotel Circle NE to see the courts, try an open-play session and get details on membership and junior-program schedules.
