Cleveland Bonsai Club Schedules March Meeting and Spring Repotting Workshop
Cleveland Bonsai Club's March 28 repotting workshop invites members to bring their trees and get hands-on help from experienced members at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse.

Spring arrives fast for the Cleveland Bonsai Club. The club posted its March 2026 meeting announcement on March 24, scheduling a repotting workshop for the following Saturday, March 28, at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse on East 88th Street in Cleveland.
Club meetings run from 9:30am to noon on the fourth Saturday of each month at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse. The March 28 session follows that same pattern, opening the repotting season with a format the club has refined over several years: a short presentation followed by a community repotting session where members work side by side.
Anyone who has never repotted a bonsai tree, or who just needs an extra set of hands, is encouraged to bring their tree and supplies and get assistance from experienced members. The club frames pot selection as a collective exercise as well, with the invitation to "assess the options together" for anyone undecided on which container to use.
Cold weather is still a factor for anyone repotting this weekend. Any tree you repot will need to be protected from cold weather for the remainder of winter and spring. The club has been specific about the threshold: repotted trees, and any tree that has broken dormancy, should be kept above 40 degrees Fahrenheit until stable conditions arrive.

Since 1956, the Cleveland Bonsai Club has been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in bonsai. That longevity shows in how the club structures its spring programming: the March repotting workshop is not a standalone event but the opening move in a season that builds through spring. The club has previously hosted visiting artist Young Choe for a kusamono workshop, with a companion kokedama session held at Mulberry Creek Herb Farm in Huron, and the MidAtlantic Bonsai Societies Spring Festival in central Pennsylvania, scheduled for April 17 through 19, has drawn club members looking to extend the season beyond Cleveland.
Meetings are generally held the fourth Saturday of every month at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse, from 9:30am to noon. The full address is 750 E. 88th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44108.
