Beginner DMZ Extraction Guide: Intel, Roles, Loadouts for Survival

Mastering DMZ extractions means balancing greed with survival. DMZ is an objective-driven PvPvE extraction mode where high-value loot draws conflict, so the first rule is plan your escape before you stack your bag. Prioritize intel and route planning by learning spawn areas, high-value POIs, and common vehicle spawns. Mark extraction routes on the map and use radio or compass callouts early; knowing exits beats winning a firefight with no way out.

Play conservative in the early game. Loot essentials such as armor plates, medical, ammo, and a compact extraction box before chasing high-stack items. Use sound to your advantage: footsteps and vehicle audio reveal incoming squads and let Scout/Info call out rotations. If extraction is the objective, Extractor/Carry should minimize risk and limit exposure to long fights. For building clears, an SMG close-range setup prioritizes mobility; equip a suppressor and laser to win hipfire engagements and stay off enemy radar. Risk management separates successful squads from corpse-laden ones. If a fight would likely cost the loot, disengage; a safe extraction with less loot is still a net profit. Rotate early from a hot POI when multiple squad pings appear and consider 'throwaway' low-value runs to learn routing and extraction mechanics without risking high stacks. Use smoke and tactical utility to stall chases at extraction points or leave a decoy to bait enemies into a bad push.
