Beginner DMZ Extraction Guide: Intel, Roles, Loadouts for Survival
A practical DMZ extraction guide lays out intel, team roles, and beginner loadouts to help new players loot smart and get home alive.

Mastering DMZ extractions means balancing greed with survival. DMZ is an objective-driven PvPvE extraction mode where high-value loot draws conflict, so the first rule is plan your escape before you stack your bag. Prioritize intel and route planning by learning spawn areas, high-value POIs, and common vehicle spawns. Mark extraction routes on the map and use radio or compass callouts early; knowing exits beats winning a firefight with no way out.
Play conservative in the early game. Loot essentials such as armor plates, medical, ammo, and a compact extraction box before chasing high-stack items. Use sound to your advantage: footsteps and vehicle audio reveal incoming squads and let Scout/Info call out rotations. If extraction is the objective, Extractor/Carry should minimize risk and limit exposure to long fights. Scout/Info scans perimeters and flags approaching teams, Flank/Entry clears buildings and secures chokepoints, and Support carries extra plates, medical, and ammo while deploying revives and defensive equipment when needed.
Choose loadouts to match role and range. A versatile AR mid-range build with fast ADS, moderate recoil control, a 2x optic, and lightweight attachments gives map control without overcommitting. For building clears, an SMG close-range setup prioritizes mobility; equip a suppressor and laser to win hipfire engagements and stay off enemy radar. For overwatch at extraction, use a marksman or sniper with a longbarrel and stability attachments to deny approaches from distance. Extraction-specific gear matters: bring stackable utility like frags and flash grenades, at least one smoke or long-range smoke for concealment on the final approach, and an anti-vehicle option if the current meta includes transports.

Risk management separates successful squads from corpse-laden ones. If a fight would likely cost the loot, disengage; a safe extraction with less loot is still a net profit. Rotate early from a hot POI when multiple squad pings appear and consider 'throwaway' low-value runs to learn routing and extraction mechanics without risking high stacks. Use smoke and tactical utility to stall chases at extraction points or leave a decoy to bait enemies into a bad push.
Community players who focus on these basics will improve survival and team synergy quickly. Practice routes, refine the Extractor/Carry and Scout/Info tandems, and tune loadouts to the sectors you run most. The next step is turning conservative wins into consistent profits, learn exits, respect sound, and make every extraction count.
