Two bugs are actively dismantling the core loop of Black Ops 7 Zombies this Season 3. The official Call of Duty Updates account confirmed on April 6 that it is investigating reports where Pack-a-Punch Tier and Rarity can be stripped from weapons when interacting with the Mystery Box, Wall Buys, Chompy, or dropping a weapon if Mule Kick is active. A separate investigation into Klaus was confirmed around the same time: the fan-favorite giant robot protector is not responding to player commands.

The Pack-a-Punch bug is the more economically devastating of the two. Upgrading a weapon through Pack-a-Punch costs Essence, the in-match currency players grind every round, and climbing through the upgrade tiers is the backbone of surviving deep into a run. Having those tiers silently wiped away by something as routine as spinning the Mystery Box or letting a Mule Kick weapon hit the ground can effectively roll back 20 or 30 rounds of investment in a single interaction. The bug does not appear to be limited to one map or one weapon class, and the inclusion of Wall Buys and Chompy in the trigger list means nearly every standard loot interaction is potentially dangerous right now.

The Klaus situation hits differently on maps where the robotic companion is woven into the Easter egg quest. Klaus normally follows players around the map, responds to pings via the D-Pad, and can be commanded to trigger his thunderous stomp attack or interact with specific quest objects. Klaus even arrives equipped with a Tier 2 Pack-a-Punch weapon of his own. With commands going unrecognized, players attempting Easter egg steps that require Klaus to perform specific actions have found those runs uncompletable.

Both issues were flagged on Activision's official known issues tracker after being reported by the community. The Season 3 patch notes that dropped at launch did address a Klaus-adjacent problem, specifically that Main Quest zombies were no longer being stunned by his lightning when he knocked them down, so the mode has been carrying multiple Klaus-related problems into the season simultaneously.

No timeline for fixes was provided in either investigation announcement. Until patches land, packing up any weapon before touching the Mystery Box or swapping Mule Kick guns carries real risk of losing the upgrade entirely.
