Buffed DS20 Mirage Emerges as Warzone’s New Long-Range Meta Pick

Warzone’s long-range race changed fast after Season 3 Reloaded, and the DS20 Mirage moved to the front of the line. The rifle jumped after a substantial buff and the MK35 ISR slipped off the top spot, leaving players with a new answer for mid-to-long-range fights: the DS20 now hits harder, tracks cleaner, and can delete opponents before they have time to reset.

The shift came from a very specific tuning pass. The DS20 Mirage gained extra damage in its first two damage ranges, better multipliers for the head, torso, and legs, and a slight boost to bullet velocity. Dexerto’s Warzone Meta numbers put the rifle at a 595ms time-to-kill out to 40 meters, which is exactly the kind of number that changes loadouts overnight. At the ranges where most squads actually trade shots, that TTK is fast enough to punish anyone still leaning on older long-range favorites.

The patch also made the gun easier to control. The 17.1-inch Abdicator Barrel received a reduced recoil penalty, and the Weighted Stock was strengthened as well, which gives the DS20 more consistency when players stretch it past the usual lane-fight distance. That matters because the DS20 Mirage was already built as a full-auto assault rifle with respectable damage, but its moderate recoil, mobility, and handling kept it from being the cleanest beam in the sandbox. The update finally pushed its raw damage profile far enough to overcome those limits.

Raven Software confirmed the DS20 Mirage was adjusted in Season 03 Reloaded, and the wider mid-season drop also included the RoboCop Event Pass content and the Siren special weapon. The timing makes the rifle’s rise feel even more immediate, because the balance change landed inside a larger content refresh rather than as a quiet weapon tweak buried in the notes. Warzone players got a fresh event, a new special weapon, and a completely different long-range hierarchy in the same update.

That is why the DS20 Mirage matters now. It is not just another AR getting a small tune-up. It is the rifle that now threatens the established long-range picks, especially the MK35 ISR, and it does so with damage, recoil control, and a 40-meter TTK that makes every open-lane duel feel dangerous. For anyone rebuilding a Warzone class today, the DS20 Mirage is the first gun worth testing.
