Los Angeles Thieves lead CDL Stage 2 qualifiers amid surprise upsets
Los Angeles Thieves sit atop the Stage 2 Major II qualifiers at 2-0 and +5, with $150,000 and 100 CDL points on the line and surprise results from Miami and Paris shaking up seeding.

Los Angeles Thieves opened the Major II qualifying window with a 2-0 record and a +5 map differential, an early advantage that will affect Major II seeding and the race for $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points for the champion. Field Level Media reported, “Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris was the best of the LA squad, posting a plus-15 differential with 55 kills as each of the Thieves recorded between 53 and 55 kills,” a collective output that powered Los Angeles past Carolina 3-0 on February 15 and Vancouver 3-1 on February 14.
The standings after the Feb 13-15 window show Los Angeles Thieves first at 2-0, OpTic Texas tied 2-0 at +4, and Paris Gentle Mates also 2-0 at +4. Field Level Media’s full table lists G2 Minnesota 1-1 +2, Miami Heretics 1-1 +1, Carolina Royal Ravens 1-1 even, FaZe Vegas 1-1 even, Boston Breach 1-1 -1, Vancouver Surge 0-1 -2, Cloud9 New York 0-1 -3, Riyadh Falcons 0-2 -4, and Toronto KOI 0-2 -6. The Call of Duty League official site mirrors the top of that order and hosts match VODs for each fixture.
Paris Gentle Mates’ 3-1 win over Miami on Sunday came with a tight map sequence and heavy individual output. Field Level Media recorded map scores of Scar Hardpoint 250-224, Raid Search and Destroy 4-6, Scar Overload 2-1, and Den Hardpoint 250-172 and noted, “Daunte ‘Sib’ Gray led the way for Paris, posting 101 kills with 93 deaths for a plus-8 kill-death differential. Only one player for Miami finished with a positive differential.”
Miami handed FaZe Vegas a 3-0 loss in a separate contest that produced large differentials in BigNewsNetwork’s account: Scar Hardpoint 250-132, Scar Search and Destroy 6-5, Scar Overload 4-3. BigNewsNetwork wrote, “Spain's Diego 'SupeR' Escudero starred for the Heretics with 72 kills and a plus-29 K-D differential. Belgium's Jordan 'Abuzah' Francois led FaZe with 72 kills and a plus-29 K-D differential.” That report conflicts with a Field Level Media line claiming, “David ‘RenKoR’ Isern of Spain posted a plus-20 differential that was the highest by any player on Sunday.” Both statements appear in contemporaneous coverage and should be checked against the official CDL match stat pages.
G2 Minnesota’s 3-0 win over Cloud9 New York produced clear scorelines and a standout. Field Level Media lists Den Hardpoint 250-215, Exposure Search and Destroy 6-2, Scar Overload 3-2 and named Justice “Estreal” McMillan “the player of the match, posting high totals of 70 kills and a plus-17 differential,” while Jonathan “Nejra” Pabo’n posted a plus-3 differential for New York. Carolina’s weekend presented mixed signals: Field Level Media noted, “Dylan ‘Nero’ Koch was the only Royal Raven to finish in the black in differential at plus-3. The rest of the Carolina team was a cumulative minus-46 differential,” even after Carolina beat Toronto KOI 3-0 on February 13.

The Major II qualifying window runs FEB 13 - MAR 29 on the Call of Duty League calendar, and the financial and points stakes are explicit: “The Stage 2 Major champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points, while the runner-up will get $90,000 and 75 CDL points.” Match VODs and upcoming Play Pick’Em fixtures are listed on the official site, including LAT vs TOR pick’em slots and weekend matchups through February 22 and March 22. With Toronto KOI at 0-2 -6 and Riyadh Falcons 0-2 -4, early repairs are urgent if those clubs want a shot at Major II seeding and the $150,000 top prize.
