Treyarch’s latest Season 03 patch hit the biggest player pain points first: Endgame Exfil locations now refresh during a match, and Operation Broken Mirror Step 8, Blade and Flame, no longer needs the Thermal Spike to move forward. For anyone stuck in Avalon progression or waiting on a clean escape route, those were the kinds of blockers that could turn a run into a dead end.

The May 1 patch notes also fixed a nastier Endgame issue that could wipe Combat Rating back to 0 after using a Restore Token and loading into a match on a fresh Operator. That matters in a mode built for replayability, especially with Endgame running as a free-to-play attraction for a limited time during Season 03 and supporting squads of up to 32 players. Season 03 itself launched on April 2, 2026, bringing new Operations in Avalon, new multiplayer maps, and additional Zombies content, so progression and stability problems landed harder than they would have in a quieter season.

Zombies picked up its own round of cleanup. In Ashwood Survival, zombies that refused to path to the player inside the Sheriff’s Office were fixed, and in Paradox Junction, players can once again interact with the piano even if they had not played any notes first. Treyarch also folded in broader stability improvements across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame, the kind of back-end work that usually decides whether a session feels smooth or spirals into a restart.

The patch notes also quietly corrected a Strider 300 aim-down-sight animation adjustment that Treyarch said had already gone live with Season 03 Reloaded but was missing from earlier notes. It is a small fix on paper, but it fits the same pattern as the larger changes: clearing confusion, smoothing combat flow, and making sure the Season 03 update lines up with what players were actually seeing in-game.

With the Exfil refresh fixed, Broken Mirror’s Step 8 opened up, and Zombies’ map-specific blockers removed, Endgame, Zombies, and Multiplayer all look safer to jump back into after this update. For players pushing Avalon content or grinding the season’s new lanes, that is the difference between a session that stalls out and one that finally keeps moving.
