Morgan Eckroth, the 2022 US Barista Champion and 2022 World Barista Championship Runner-Up, has opened pre-orders for "Coffee, For Here: The Ultimate Handbook for At-Home Coffee Enthusiasts," a 240-page hardcover published by Clarkson Potter and slated for an October 20 release.

The book covers coffee from seed to cup, walking through origins, flavor profiles, and how coffee is grown, roasted, and tasted before moving into step-by-step walkthroughs for six brewing methods: pour-over, French press, AeroPress, Moka pot, cold brew, and espresso. Each method comes with instructions, illustrations, and QR codes that link directly to video walkthroughs. Espresso fundamentals get dedicated treatment as well, with sections on shot pulling, milk steaming, and latte art, alongside guidance for building a streamlined home coffee bar.

"Coffee, for Here is both a practical handbook and a guide to building real coffee skills at home, designed to help you brew with confidence and curiosity," reads the book's overview. The framing is deliberately inclusive: "Whether you're just beginning your coffee journey or ready to refine your technique, Morgan, your friendly internet barista, meets you where you are, breaking down each step so even more complex methods feel approachable."

Beyond technique, the book's 40 café-style drink recipes push into inventive territory. The lineup runs from a crisp Espresso Tonic to a nostalgic Creamsicle to a floral Limoncello built from papaya purée, lime juice, rose water, and espresso.

Eckroth, who uses they/she pronouns and is based in Portland, Oregon, has built one of the most recognizable presences in coffee outside of competition circuits, amassing nearly nine million followers across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok under the handle @morgandrinkscoffee. That audience skews heavily toward non-industry coffee drinkers, which makes the accessible framing of the book a natural fit. Eckroth also holds titles as 2023 and 2024 US Barista Runner-Up and recently received a Sprudgie Award for Best Coffee Writing.

The hardcover retails for $28 and the ebook for $15. Pre-orders are available now through Eckroth's official website. Reparations Club, a Black-owned and woman-owned concept bookshop and creative space at 3054 S Victoria Ave in Los Angeles, is also carrying the pre-order for readers who prefer to support an independent retailer.
