The UK-born hybrid fitness competition ATHX is planting its first American flag on Miami Beach, bringing its elite Invitational format to South Beach on March 21–22, 2026 in a weekend produced with Adidas and South Florida's Breakwater Hospitality Group.

The event, officially titled the ATHX Invitational: Miami Beach, marks two firsts simultaneously: ATHX's debut outside Europe and the Middle East, and the introduction of its Elite Individual competition tier, a format that sits above the existing Pro division. "Miami represents not only our newest location and first venture into the U.S., but also the next crucial step in the evolution of our competitive format," said ATHX founder Mark Hartnett Morgan.

The confirmed athlete roster already includes Laura Horvarth, Danielle Brandon, Khan Porter, and Jonne Koski, with additional names promised in the coming weeks.

For competitors entering below the Invitational tier, the format runs as a 2.5-hour continuous challenge across six purpose-built zones: Warm-Up, Strength, Endurance, MetCon X, Refuel, and Recovery. The Strength zone covers strict press, squat, and deadlift. Endurance tests athletes through run and row segments. The MetCon X zone packs ski-erg, ground-to-overhead, sandbag carries, box jump overs, burpee broad jumps, and walking lunges into a single metabolic block. The Pro division adds heavier loads and 1km run intervals, targeting athletes with CrossFit, HYROX, or functional fitness backgrounds chasing leaderboard positions.

Divisions span Lite, ATHX, and ATHX Pro, with entries open for both individuals and pairs across Female, Male, and Mixed categories. Individual registration is $99; pairs entry runs $198. Heat selection windows run from 08:00 to 18:00 across both days, and registration is open now through the ATHX official site.

Adidas is woven into the event well beyond a logo placement. The brand's on-floor FitCheck activation rewards athletes who compete in Adidas gear with vouchers, and ATHX has teased a co-branded merchandise drop including a t-shirt reading "All Day I Dream About ATHX." The full weekend also includes ATHX-focused classes and workshops; spectator ticketing details are still to be announced.

The Miami event arrives as ATHX is scaling aggressively. The organization has hosted more than 20 events across Europe and the Middle East and is running a 14-event European tour in 2026 that launched in London in January and closes in Amsterdam in November. The brand expects more than 40,000 competitors globally this year, with expansion into the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions already in planning. The Miami Invitational is built to function as the opening chapter of that U.S. footprint.
