Dani Speegle, who placed 13th at the 2020 CrossFit Games and won season two of The Titan Games, is trading the competition floor for the Arena. Amazon Prime Video has confirmed April 17 as the premiere date for its reboot of American Gladiators, with Speegle among the 16 Gladiators set to face amateur contenders from across the country.

Speegle was first announced as part of the Gladiator roster in June 2025, but her official Gladiator character name has not yet been released. She joins a cast that includes AEW wrestler Kailey Latimer, professional bodybuilder Lu Faustin, powerlifter Sydney Hunter, and bodybuilder and rugby player Dani Means, among others. The show filmed in France during the summer of 2025 and will be distributed across Prime Video's 240 countries and territories.

The series drops in two batches: the first three episodes arrive April 17, with the final four following on May 1. Each episode sends amateur male and female contenders into the Arena to go up against the Gladiators in a mix of classic events, including Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough, and The Wall, alongside new additions called The Ring and Collision. At the end of the season, one man and one woman claim $100,000 and the title of American Gladiator Champion.

There may also be a CrossFit contender in the mix. Bailey Meraviglia, who competed on teams at the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games and has reached three individual Semifinals in the past five years, posted a photo on Instagram wearing an American Gladiators hoodie with the caption "The arena is callings…and I answered." Meraviglia also owns Stroud CrossFit. Her status as an official contender has not been confirmed by Amazon.

For Speegle, the casting represents a continuation of a television career that already has some serious hardware attached to it. She won the second season of Dwayne Johnson's The Titan Games in 2020, taking the regional finals in episode three before being crowned the show's female champion, with Matt Chan earning the male title. That season drew an estimated 3.5 million viewers.

Her CrossFit resume backs up the Gladiator casting. Speegle has competed at the CrossFit Games six times, five as an individual and once on a team that finished sixth at the 2025 Games. She has finished in the top ten at the Rogue Invitational four times, including an eighth-place finish at the 2025 edition after switching back to individual competition. She started competing in the CrossFit Open in 2016 and made her Games debut in 2019. Off the competition floor, she has 1.9 million Instagram followers and founded the Girls Who Eat movement in 2022, aimed at promoting positive body image for women. "I want other women to love and celebrate their bodies," Speegle has said. "Women can do anything and be anything, lifting each other up is what helps us all rise together."

The American Gladiators reboot premieres April 17 on Prime Video.
