Over 5,000 Compete at Fittest of the Coast; Smith, Carrick Win
Brandon Smith and Brynn Carrick topped heavily stacked PRO fields as Fittest of the Coast drew over 5,000 athletes across 46 divisions, organizers and coverage show.

Brandon Smith and Brynn Carrick won the men’s and women’s Pro individual titles at Fittest of the Coast, an event described as “one of the largest participatory in-person competitions in the world” with “over 5,000 athletes competing in 46 divisions,” The Barbell Spin’s Brian Spin reported. The coverage singled out divisions from pro individual and two-person teams to masters, teens and 6-9 year-old divisions.
A separate social post labeled “2026 FOTC PRO Podium Finishers” listed the Pro individual top threes: Men, 1. Brandon Smith, 2. Seth Stovall, 3. Zachary Levy; Women, 1. Brynn Carrick, 2. Jenna Michelotti, 3. Tracy Johnson. The Instagram text provides clearer podium depth beyond the Pro winners named in event write-ups.
Team Pro competition produced winners across three categories. Wes Peters and Seth Stovall took Team Pro Men, Katie Cummingham and Marie Docken won Team Pro Women, and Reese Littlewood paired with Daniel Sterling to win Team Pro Co-ed. Coverage noted several Semifinals-level athletes competed in PRO divisions, including Reese Littlewood, Spencer Panchik and Seth Stovall.
The event coverage also described a substitution controversy in the Team Pro Co-ed division: “There was also a bit of controversy in the Team Pro Co-ed division as Taylor Self stepped in to compete with Delia Moises, a Sentinel Training athlete. Delia’s teammate was sick and unable to compete so Self took his place. After the first event, however, there were complaints that Self was not allowed to compete as he is currently banned by CrossFit for using banned substances including BPC-157 and TB-500. FOTC’s rulebook states that it adheres to CrossFit’s drug policy and sanctions. [...] Self was allowed to compete the rest of the weekend but was given last place for each event. Their team finished 18th after another team withdrew prior to the final two events.” That account, as published, names the alleged banned substances and states the penalty applied at events.
Final leaderboards and detailed scoring were reported as available at Competition Corner, per event coverage. The Barbell Spin coverage and the Instagram podium post together provide names and placements for Pro individuals and teams, while Competition Corner is identified for full leaderboards and event details.

Several specifics remain unlisted in the published coverage: the event location and competition dates were not provided in the material reviewed, and no CrossFit statement or public sanction document confirming the reported ban on Taylor Self was included. Organizers’ official results and any CrossFit adjudication documents will be necessary to fully verify placements, penalties and the sanction status cited in the coverage.
