Emporium Games brings Dungeons & Dragons coffee shop and event space to New Caney
Emporium Games plans 2,500 square feet of play space in New Caney, pairing Dungeons & Dragons, coffee, and events under one roof.

Emporium Games set out to solve one of tabletop gaming’s oldest problems: finding a dependable place to gather the party. The community-based game store and coffee shop will open this summer at 22564 Community Drive in New Caney, with 2,500 square feet of gaming space built into the plan.
That footprint matters for Dungeons & Dragons groups, where a spare corner or a crowded counter rarely works for a long campaign. Emporium Games said it will stock board games, collectible card games, and hobby staples including Dungeons & Dragons, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer, along with miniatures, dice and play mats. For players looking to keep a regular session alive, the mix points to a store meant for actual table time, not just quick purchases.

The coffee side is designed to keep people in their seats. The menu will include fantasy-themed drinks such as Story Teller espresso, Critical Hit drip coffee, Wizards Brew black tea and Sun Burst Potion lemonade, plus croissants and danishes. That setup gives the store the feel of a hangout as much as a retail stop, which is exactly the kind of atmosphere many groups want when they are waiting for late arrivals, leveling up between sessions or kicking off a new one-shot.
Emporium Games planned a soft opening for May 23 and a grand opening for June 6. The grand opening will feature paint-and-take miniatures, door prizes, pastries and coffee, adding a community event layer to the shop’s retail floor. For new players, that kind of programming lowers the barrier to entry. For experienced DMs and regulars, it offers a ready-made place to recruit, run themed nights and keep a campaign on track without scrambling for a venue every week.
In a hobby where reliable table space can be harder to find than a nat 20, Emporium Games is betting that New Caney players want more than shelves and a register. The store is building toward a third place where the dice, the coffee and the campaign can all stay on the table at once.
