Turkey Wing Foil Championship Races Through Didim With 27 Competing Athletes

Finals day has arrived in Didim, where 27 athletes are competing in the closing rounds of the 2025-2026 TYF Yelken Ligi 2nd Leg Wing Foil Turkey Championship. After two days of racing organized by the Türkiye Sailing Federation, the field has been whittled down through 12 completed races, with the awards ceremony set to cap the event later today on March 13.

The competition drew competitors from 8 clubs, giving the regatta a genuinely national character as wing foilers from across Turkey descended on Didim to contest the second leg of the season-long TYF Yelken Ligi series. Six races were run on March 12 alone, doubling the total race count to 12 and giving the race committee enough data to establish a solid points picture heading into finals day.

Twelve races across two days is a meaningful body of work in wing foil racing terms. With multiple drops typically factored into championship scoring, athletes who managed consistency through the March 12 sessions will have arrived at today's finals with a significant advantage over those chasing points after early mistakes.
