Flash sheets are hitting the walls across metro Phoenix this Friday the 13th, with studios from Buckeye to Mesa opening early, staying late, and stacking their lineups with discounted ink starting as low as $13. The once-superstitious date has quietly become one of the busiest walk-in days of the year for Valley artists, and 2026 is delivering three chances to grab a deal, compared to just one in 2025.

Everlasting Ink at 4220 W. Northern Ave., Suite 114 in Phoenix is running one of the longest windows in the roundup: flash designs priced at $20, $40 and $60 from 8 a.m. straight through to midnight, with vendors, food and a local DJ keeping the shop moving throughout the day. Availability is limited and it's strictly first come, first served.

Captain Tattoo Art Collective at 1916 W. Baseline Road in Mesa opens at 9 a.m. with the lowest entry price in the group: flash pieces starting at $13, though the range climbs to $31, $113 or $131 depending on the design, with an additional $7 or $9 tip expected. Food vendors will be on site, and no appointments are being taken.

Art and Soul Ink at 10540 W. Indian School Road in Phoenix is pulling from a catalog of over 100 flash designs priced at $31 plus a $9 setup fee, with select piercings also available for $21 plus the same setup charge. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the event is walk-in only. The shop can be reached at 623-772-8288.

Electric Cactus Tattoo in Mesa is using size-based pricing: 1-inch pieces run $31, 2-inch pieces run $62 and 3-inch pieces run $80. The event stretches into Saturday for a Valentine's Day crossover, running 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. both nights at 2051 S. Dobson Road, No. 7. A $500 tattoo giveaway and free T-shirts are part of the event. Reach the shop at 480-271-7303 or electriccactustattoomesa.com.

Mortuary Tattoo at 1720 W. Southern Ave., Suite C8 in Mesa runs noon to 9 p.m. with flash designs from $30 to $60. Piercing specials are $30 and cover helix, conch, nostril and eyebrow placements. The shop requires cash only, valid ID, and is 18-and-older; no design changes are permitted and color or shading is at the artist's discretion.

Silver Stag Tattoo at 325 S. Miller Road in Buckeye opens at 11 a.m. with hundreds of designs available including traditional artwork, across multiple size options. Sign-ups close at 6:30 p.m. even though the shop stays open until midnight, so arriving early is essential.

High Noon Tattoo at 4215 N. 16th St., Suite 9 in Phoenix takes a different approach entirely, skipping discount pricing in favor of flash pieces running $100 to $250 from noon to 8 p.m. For collectors who want something more considered than the entry-tier flash format, the walk-in window there is worth noting.

Given the volume of shops and the all-day format many of them run, the practical reality is that the best selection at most locations will be gone by early afternoon. Silver Stag's 6:30 p.m. sign-up cutoff is the sharpest deadline in the bunch, but shops listing "limited availability" like Everlasting Ink will thin out well before midnight regardless. Call ahead to confirm the specific date each shop is participating, as some listings in the Arizona Republic's guide reference earlier February events alongside the March 13 date.
