Hawkley Brewing Opens in Herndon with 10 Beers and Food Trucks
Former federal worker Monte Hawkins opened Hawkley Brewing in Herndon on March 20, pouring 10 house-brewed beers at a spot that once housed Aslin and Juicy Brewing.

A former federal worker turned brewery owner, Monte Hawkins opened Hawkley Brewing on March 20 at 257 Sunset Park Drive in Herndon's Sunset Business Park, stepping into a space with serious local craft beer credentials. Herndon Mayor Keven Leblanc joined for a ribbon-cutting at 3 p.m. that Friday, with food trucks on-site for both opening day and the following Saturday, plus a few small giveaways rounding out the festivities.
The address carries weight in Northern Virginia beer circles. Before Hawkley, Juicy Brewing Company operated there until closing last year. Before Juicy, the space was tied to Aslin's original location, making 257 Sunset Park Drive something of a relay baton in Herndon's evolving brewery scene.
Hawkins partnered with an award-winning brewer to build the opening lineup: 10 beers, all brewed in-house, spanning IPAs, lagers, sours, and more. "Folks can expect delicious beer, a friendly and warm atmosphere and staff and a new neighborhood brewery to call their own," Hawkins said at launch. The brewery's mission statement leans into that ambition directly: "At Hawkley Brewing, we are passionate artisans committed to crafting exceptional beer. Our mission? To leave you in awe with every sip."
Beyond the taproom, Hawkley has already shown up on third-party event listings with programming like trivia nights, and an active Untappd venue page is live for beer menu tracking.
Regular operating hours run six days a week: Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. Follow the taproom on Instagram at @hawkleybrewing for updates.
