More than three years of planning landed in south Fort Myers on March 6, when Resurgence Brewing Co. cut the ribbon on a 15,000-plus-square-foot brewpub at 6160 Exchange Lane, just southwest of Hammond Stadium, the Minnesota Twins' spring training home. It marks the first time the Buffalo-based brewery has planted a flag outside New York since founder Jeff Ware opened the original location in 2014.

The soft opening came shortly after the company received its certificate of occupancy, and COO Andrew Zach was on the floor to oversee the launch. A grand opening is expected roughly a month after March 6, though no exact date has been announced. The operation already employs about 60 people, with staff training still ongoing.

The space itself leans hard into the open-concept experience Resurgence is known for in Buffalo. High ceilings and banks of glass-paned garage doors flood the room with light, and the layout includes two indoor/outdoor bars, a beer garden, and a covered patio that's particularly welcome in Southwest Florida's March heat. Until on-site brewing gets underway in the coming weeks, Resurgence is trucking its craft beers in to keep all 20 taps flowing. The current lineup runs the full spectrum: IPAs, ales, pilsners, lager, sours (including a tea sour), a Dubai chocolate stout, and cider, alongside Blackbird cider in cans, signature cocktails, non-alcoholic beer, and mocktails.

Food service is running at roughly half capacity for now. Nachos, fries, sliders, chips and dips, salads, burgers, wings, and tenders are all available, with every sauce made in-house. The full menu is expected to roll out within the next few weeks alongside the start of on-site brewing.

The brewery opens at 11 a.m. daily. Reach them at (239) 992-1334 or resurgencebrewing.com.
