Titletown Brewing Opens Second Location in West Bend Former 1840 Space
West Bend is getting a new Titletown taproom in the former 1840 space, with a patio, riverwalk access and a fresh reason to drink downtown.

West Bend drinkers are getting a new brewery destination at 401 N. Main St., where Titletown Brewing will turn the former 1840 taproom at The District into its second location and put fresh draft beer back into a space built for it. The new outpost, expected to open in summer 2026, will give downtown a beer stop with a 1,110-square-foot covered patio, riverwalk access in back and about 4,000 square feet inside for pours and a crowd.
For Titletown, the move is bigger than filling a vacancy. The Green Bay brewery founded in 1996 has long billed itself as Green Bay’s original craft brewery, with roots in the historic Chicago & Northwestern Railway depot downtown. It expanded into Beerworks in 2014 and added a rooftop tap room in 2015, a steady climb that now leads to its first known second location. After 30 years in business, Titletown is testing how far an established regional brand can stretch when it finds the right room, the right block and an audience already used to stopping for beer.
The West Bend space fits that strategy neatly. The District mixes 177 residential units with commercial space, and the brewery site sits alongside the city’s riverfront corridor, part of the Milwaukee Riverfront Parkway system that runs through downtown. That means the payoff for local beer fans is immediate and tangible: another place to grab draft beer, another reason to linger on Main Street, and another anchor for a district that already has built-in foot traffic from residents and riverwalk users.
It also says something about where regional breweries still see room to grow. Titletown is not chasing a blank slate; it is stepping into a recognizable beer space that had only recently hosted 1840 Brewing Co. That West Bend taproom opened in April 2024 and closed after about a year, following delays and financial pressure tied to rent while the project was waiting to launch. 1840’s Bay View location is set to reopen under Solemn Oath Brewing, a reminder that taproom real estate in and around Milwaukee remains in motion.
For West Bend, the change looks less like brand duplication than a true expansion of craft-beer access. A long-running brewery with a proven downtown identity is moving into a site that already knows how to host beer drinkers, and that makes the upcoming opening feel like more than a lease fill. It gives The District another reason to matter, and it gives Titletown a chance to meet a new crowd where the riverwalk meets the barstool.
