Triumph Brewing Company shuttered its New Hope taproom on March 9, 2026, posting a brief message to Facebook that thanked guests and employees for 23 years of support but offered no reason for the sudden closure. The announcement caught both patrons and staff off guard, with a physical note also appearing on the door of the 400 Union Square Drive location the same day.

"We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the many guests who dined and drank with us over the last 23 years, and to our employees whose hard work and dedication made it possible," the brewery wrote in its Facebook post.

The timing sharpened the sting for regulars. Just the prior weekend, Triumph had promoted an Irish Fest Weekend slated for March 13 through 16, complete with specialty drinks and live music. Patrons flooded the Facebook post with questions about reservations and events with St. Patrick's Day days away. Triumph subsequently limited who could comment on the post.

A GoFundMe campaign surfaced claiming that employees would not receive pay after the end of the week. Triumph pushed back in a follow-up post on March 10. "This is inaccurate. ALL Triumph New Hope employees will receive another full paycheck on March 27, the last payday of the month," the brewery wrote, adding: "We hope this will help ease the impact of this sudden closure, which was unavoidable. However, you may also, of course, contribute to this effort if you wish." As of Tuesday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised $2,760 toward its $8,000 goal.

Opened in 2003 as the second of three locations for the New Jersey-based brewery, the New Hope spot had operated for more than two decades as a gastropub serving craft beer alongside food and regular live music. It was the only brewery operating within New Hope proper; Invertase Brewing Company is located across the Delaware River in Lambertville.

Triumph's Princeton and Red Bank, New Jersey locations remain open and are unaffected by the closure. The New Hope shutdown follows the abrupt closing of Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant in nearby Newtown last September, when that chain cited financial reasons for shuttering all its remaining locations.

No corporate statement explaining the cause of the New Hope closure has been issued beyond the two Facebook posts.
