AKC publishes 2027 World Team agility regional qualifiers and 2026 results

The next road to Team USA just opened on the AKC/USA World Agility Team page, where the 2027 AKC/USA World Team Tryouts regional qualifiers were published and the 2026 tryouts results and maps were moved into Past Events Results. For handlers chasing international selection, that is the kind of update that turns a calendar into a plan.

AKC said the regional ISC qualifier events were chosen to give geographic balance and competitive opportunity across the country, and the federation has now locked in four regional stops for each qualification period. The 2027 cycle runs through May 22-23, 2026 in Woodland, California, July 11-12, 2026 in Northfield, Connecticut, October 31-November 1, 2026 in Middleton, Wisconsin, and January 22-24, 2027 in Punta Gorda, Florida. The clubs attached to the cycle are Two Rivers Agility Club of Sacramento, Mudi Club of America, Midwest International Agility Club, and Dog Obedience Club of Hollywood.

That schedule matters because the World Team pathway is built around timing as much as speed. AKC’s 2026 World Team Tryouts were held May 1-3 at Premier Sports Center in Southampton, New Jersey, with the premium list placing the venue at 3 Coleman Court in Vincentown. Entries opened February 2, 2026 at 8 a.m. ET and closed April 14, 2026 at 4 p.m. ET, giving competitors a fixed runway to finish qualifying scores and lock in travel.

The 2026 tryouts also showed how exact the selection process has become. AKC said it would field at least 16 dogs for the FCI Agility World Championships in Turku, Finland, scheduled for September 22-27, 2026. In each height division, three of the four team spots were earned at tryouts, while the fourth was selected by the coaching staff. The event used FCI rules, placement points instead of cumulative results, and qualifying scores earned between March 28, 2025 and March 26, 2026. The tryouts stretched across three days and included four to six rounds.

For serious agility teams, the new qualifier list is the real season marker. It gives handlers a clean map for training blocks, travel budgets, and whether to chase one regional or build a full circuit through the 2027 cycle. With the 2026 results now filed away, the next campaign is already on the board, and the path to Turku runs through Woodland, Northfield, Middleton, and Punta Gorda.
