Luxury Fitness Club Brings Cold Plunge Recovery to Family-Friendly Gym
Athletica's Bonita Springs flagship bundles cold plunge, infrared sauna and red-light therapy into a standard founders' membership, no separate recovery studio required.

Bonita Springs now has a fitness club where a cold plunge, infrared sauna, and red-light therapy come standard with membership. Athletica, which wrapped its soft opening tours this week, built a full contrast therapy suite into its flagship facility rather than treating recovery as a premium add-on.
The recovery infrastructure is substantial. A dedicated recovery room pairs massage chairs and red-light therapy panels with cold plunge access, while the main spa runs nine treatment rooms offering sauna, whirlpool, and cold plunge, all reserved for members and guests. Founders' memberships cover the entire amenity stack with one exception: the club's indoor pickleball facility carries separate access.
The pairing of recovery tech with childcare is central to Athletica's pitch. Free childcare and multi-generational programming make it practical for parents to work a cold plunge into the same visit as a group fitness class, without a separate trip to a boutique recovery studio. That convenience factor is embedded in the design, not offered as an afterthought.
Soft opening tours ran March 27 and March 30 through 31 at the Bonita Springs location. The full equipment floor runs Technogym machines, and dedicated group fitness studios handle the training side of the facility alongside the pickleball courts.
Athletica's model signals something significant for cold water therapy's trajectory. For years, regular cold plunge access meant either building a home setup or paying per-session at a specialty studio. Folding it into a flagship gym membership alongside red-light therapy and infrared sauna reframes contrast therapy as a baseline expectation, not a niche recovery ritual. As larger fitness operators take notice, that shift will reach a much wider slice of the gym-going public than boutique studios ever could.
