Labubu's 10th Anniversary Exhibition Brings Monster Universe to Paris
Paris is the only European stop on THE MONSTERS world tour, running until March 29 at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur for just €12.

The Monsters universe has landed in Paris for its only European appearance, bringing a decade of Kasing Lung's work to the Hôtel du Grand Veneur at 60 Rue de Turenne in the 3rd Arrondissement. Titled MONSTERS BY MONSTERS: NOW AND THEN, the exhibition runs through March 29, 2026, and follows previous stops in Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong, making Paris the fourth and final international destination on the world tour.
Co-curated by POP MART and How2work, the retrospective spans the full ten-year arc of The Monsters franchise since its 2015 debut. The showcase includes previously unreleased manuscripts, rare oil paintings, and a complete display of collectible figures produced across the decade. Three distinct zones structure the experience: the Designer Collectible Zone traces the evolution of the Elf Squad from the original classic-color Labubu through to cross-brand collaborations; the Journey & Manuscript Zone presents Kasing Lung's daily sketches and drafts that captured the initial creative sparks behind the IP's global growth; and the Picture Book Zone spotlights The Monsters Trilogy, the source material that birthed the entire universe. The exhibition is also set across six immersive environments, including a dedicated Labubu plush installation space, and features a timeline mapping ten years of collaboration between Kasing Lung and How2work.
Labubu sits at the center of it all. Described by Goldfoil as "the mischievous yet kind-hearted elf from Nordic forests," the character is rendered in more physical detail by Fuckingyoung Es: wide-eyed, nine-toothed, and crowned with sharp upright ears, Labubu is "the most restless spirit of the woods, curious about everything and afraid of almost nothing." Kasing Lung himself is a Hong Kong picture book author and artist whose cinematic influences might surprise those who only know him through designer collectibles. A LinkedIn post from an industry attendee at the opening recounted meeting Lung at the exhibition: "He spoke about wanting to get into film after watching Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and his love for Stanley Kubrick's films."

The public opening on March 4 was preceded by an exclusive VIP preview on March 3 that, according to Goldfoil, attracted icons from the worlds of fashion, music, and art. Hypebeast described it as a star-studded preview event that merged all three disciplines. The exhibition is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with tickets priced at €12.
