Felix the Cat Secret Lair brings first Barrowgoyf reprint to Commander players

Barrowgoyf is the card that gives the Felix the Cat Secret Lair real Commander value. Wizards folded the reprint into the Cats Are the Best Superdrop, which releases on June 15, 2026, with a pre-queue opening at 8 a.m. PT and the sale beginning at 9 a.m. PT.

The Felix drop is not just a mascot exercise. Wizards’ reveal lists Future Sight, Time Stretch, Barrowgoyf as “Feral Felix,” Throes of Chaos, and Mind’s Eye, while the broader cat-themed Superdrop was presented as a five-drop release. That mix gives the drop a real floor for Commander buyers, because the main question is not whether the art is cute, but whether the cards inside do enough work to justify the purchase.

Barrowgoyf has the kind of footprint that makes a reprint matter. Scryfall lists it as Commander legal, along with Legacy, Timeless, Vintage, Brawl, and Oathbreaker, but not Modern or Pioneer. EDHREC shows the card in 36.6K Commander decks, which is strong evidence that the card already has a broad audience beyond a single casual archetype.

That is why Felix can stay secondary here. Wizards already showed with Raining Cats and Dogs that cat-themed Secret Lair releases can be built for Commander players, but Barrowgoyf is the cleaner access story in this Superdrop. With a card that already sees steady Commander demand and also shows up in eternal formats, the reprint should improve availability and ease some price pressure, even if the rest of the drop is more modest. When the queue opens, Felix is the hook, but Barrowgoyf is the card that gives Commander players a reason to care.
