If you bought the Back to School Superdrop for Commander upgrades, the wait just got longer. Wizards now says North American orders are set to ship on June 8, while Europe and the United Kingdom have slid to July 14, turning what was supposed to be a spring delivery into a summer hold.

The sale went live on April 27 at 9 a.m. PT after a pre-queue opened at 8 a.m. PT, but Wizards’ Secret Lair shipping page, last updated May 12, still lists the Back to School Superdrop as in production in both the US and EU/UK. That page now gives a US shipping window of June 8 to September 9, with EU/UK timing stretching from July 15 to October 15 depending on store region and fulfillment. The affected orders span the full Back to School lineup, including This Will be On the Test, Everything Bundle, Spirit Week, All Foils Bundle, Ready for Rollcall, Mahō Gakuin Seishun Hakusho, Notebook Genius, Return to Mystical Archive, Secret Lair x Dwarf Fortress: Create New World, Secret Lair x My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Secret Lair x My Little Pony: The Lands of Equestria, The Eyes Have It, and Omens of Chaos.

For Commander players, the real problem is timing. These drops are not just collector pieces anymore. They are often bought for specific reprints, premium versions of staples, or giftable cards that were supposed to land fast enough to make a deck night, birthday, or trade binder move. A June or July delivery changes that calculation immediately, especially for anyone who expected to sleeve up new cards right away.

The delay also fits into a pattern Wizards has already warned about. On March 27, the company said manufacturing delays were still ongoing and that the next few sales could be hit as well, specifically naming the Rad Superdrop and Roll for Initiative Superdrop as delayed in the United States and noting broad delays in Europe for many non-Dandân drops. Wizards also said in January 2024 that most Secret Lair products would shift from print-to-demand to a limited-print-run model to speed shipping and cut wait times, a promise these repeated setbacks now strain.

That is the practical fallout Commander buyers need to price in now: Secret Lair timing is no longer something to trust on instinct. If you are planning a deck, buying a gift, or banking on a flip around these cards, the calendar is soft, the queue is long, and the school bell keeps getting pushed back.
