Wargames Atlantic Adds Patrick Harper, Female French Resistance Sets to Historical Lines
Wargames Atlantic's Patrick Harper set arrives in both 28mm and 54mm, shipping Monday alongside a new Female French Resistance box for WWII vignette painters.

Wargames Atlantic dropped two new plastic sets on March 27, landing squarely on AdeptiCon weekend: Patrick Harper as he appears in Sharpe's Rifles, and a Female French Resistance set for the World Ablaze WWII range. Both sets are stocked in US and UK warehouses and will begin shipping Monday.
Harper is the second named character to join the officially licensed Sharpe's Rifles range, following Lieutenant Richard Sharpe. The miniature is based on actor Daragh O'Malley and his portrayal of the character from the first episode of the TV series. For painters, that specificity matters: the 54mm scale figure gives you a large canvas to push high-contrast skin tones and Napoleonic-era leather equipment, while the 54mm version shows him standing his ground and firing his ramrod at the charging French cavalry, and the 28mm can be built two ways. The dual-scale format mirrors how Wargames Atlantic released the Sharpe set, giving painters the choice between a display piece and a proper tabletop model in a single box. The 28mm version of Harper comes with a couple of different options for pose, head, and weapon.
On the WWII side, the Female French Resistance set completes a pair that started when the original World Ablaze range launched with a mixed Partisans set way back in 2021. The 30-figure set features five unique poses with a variety of weapon arms and a large number of heads. That head count is the real prize for historical painters: period civilian clothing painted with muted, occupation-era palettes sits very differently from military uniforms, and the weapon variety, which includes rifles, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers, and a knife or two, opens up multi-figure narrative vignettes rooted in actual resistance operations.

The timing is deliberate. Wargames Atlantic paired the release announcement with an AdeptiCon web special offering 10% off plastic sets, acknowledging that many painters are missing out on the convention's dice rolls and incredible displays this year. Tying a discount to convention week is a smart play: it captures the hobby energy of AdeptiCon without requiring attendance, and it gives painters a concrete reason to pull the trigger on sets they may have been eyeing.
For anyone building Napoleonic display dioramas or WWII vignettes, these two releases offer immediate project anchors. The Harper set lets you pair him with the existing Sharpe figure for a two-character narrative piece straight out of the early episodes of the series. The Female French Resistance box extends naturally into the bocage terrain and occupied-France basing stories that historical painters love to construct. Wargames Atlantic's hard plastic format keeps the sprues conversion-friendly, and with both sets now sitting in warehouse stock on two continents, the wait between order and paint station is short.
