Wyrd updates The Other Side rules, adds new units and errata cards

Wyrd Games’ latest The Other Side update gives painters and players a very concrete kind of housekeeping. The app now includes Midnight Maw, Major Mary, and the June 2026 errata cards, while Envoy Cards have been removed and their rules folded into a single Allegiance Card.

That change is more than a tidy rules edit. Wyrd said the old wording around Envoys was confusing and too restrictive, so it moved all of the instructions for taking an Envoy into the rulebook and streamlined how Strategic Alliance works. The company also merged those Strategic Alliance rules from Fields of Glory into the Core Rules, then removed the earlier restriction that treated “friendly units” on the two affected Stratagems as only units from the same Allegiance as that Stratagem.

For list builders, the practical shift is simple: if you take a force as a Company’s Primary Allegiance, everything on that Allegiance Card applies. If you take the same Allegiance as an Envoy, the entries marked “Primary Only” do not. That matters on the hobby desk because it changes what players are likely to build, paint, and keep ready in a case. A cleaner rules path for Envoys usually means fewer half-finished side projects and fewer models sitting in limbo because of a single card interaction.

The biggest new miniature push is Major Mary Digby of the 2nd Paratrooper Battalion in the King’s Empire. Wyrd describes her as one of the most decorated soldiers in the faction, and says her battalion specializes in parachuting behind enemy lines to disrupt supply lines or seize hard-to-reach objectives. That makes her an easy attention-grabber for painters looking for a command model with a clear identity, and a natural draw for anyone who wants a fresh King’s Empire centerpiece.

Wyrd also framed Major Mary as part of its promise that each of the four existing Allegiances would receive a new unit after the move to MyMiniFactory. Put together with Midnight Maw and the revised errata support, the update does give The Other Side a real reason to come back onto the workbench. It is not just cleaner rules text, it is a visible nudge toward new purchases, new builds, and old forces that may now feel worth reopening.
