Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Server Shutdown Set for April 2026
Warzone Mobile servers go dark on April 17, leaving any unspent COD Points permanently inaccessible, with Activision confirming zero refunds.

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile servers will go offline on April 17, 2026, after which the game will no longer be available for play. For anyone still logging into Verdansk or Rebirth Island on their phone, the clock is now under four weeks.
The shutdown caps a remarkably brief run. According to Pocket Gamer, Warzone Mobile pulled in just $1.4 million during its first four days, while Call of Duty: Mobile earned $4.2 million in the same window, tripling that figure. Warzone Mobile launched on iOS and Android on March 21, 2024, offering a 120-player battle royale on Verdansk and Rebirth Island, with cross-progression tied to PC and console Warzone, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, and later Black Ops 6. Less than 14 months later, the game was removed from Google Play and Apple's App Store in May 2025, with real-money purchases disabled since May 19, 2025.
In its official support statement, Activision called the April 17 cutoff "a final step in the previously communicated service changes," adding that "until that time, players may continue to access the game and engage with existing content." The company acknowledged the gap between Warzone's reception on different platforms directly: "While we're proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences."
Warzone Mobile dealt with constant technical complaints from its player base, including frame drops, device overheating during longer sessions, and unstable connections, with squeezing a full-scale battle royale built for PC and console hardware onto mobile devices with wildly different specs always going to be difficult. IGN's review had given the game an 8/10, writing that it included "all the best elements of Warzone, while speeding up and streamlining matches and using cross-progression to make this a meaningful extension of the traditional experience." The commercial reality never matched the critical reception.
For players still holding COD Points, the situation is unambiguous. Activision recommends redeeming any unused COD Points in-game towards available Store content before April 17, 2026. Once the servers are shut down, any unused COD Points will no longer be accessible, and refunds are not available for previously purchased in-game content or unused COD Points. COD Points purchased for Warzone Mobile will not transfer to other platforms.
Account fate splits by type. Guest accounts used to play Warzone Mobile will no longer be accessible once the servers shut down, while Activision accounts won't work inside Warzone Mobile anymore but will still exist and remain usable outside the game across Activision services and titles. Players who signed in with an Activision account will still be able to access that account on other Activision products, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Activision is steering mobile players toward Call of Duty: Mobile, a separate game with a confusingly similar name that remains fully supported. Mobile fans can access the free-to-play Call of Duty: Mobile, which offers franchise-favorite game modes, including Battle Royale, Multiplayer, and Zombies, as well as the new extraction-based DMZ: Recon. Activision has also confirmed special incentives exist for Warzone Mobile players making the switch, though the specifics of those incentives have not been detailed publicly. The company stated it is "deeply grateful to the community that supported Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile," with player passion and feedback continuing to shape the future of the franchise.
The nearly year-long wind-down from the app store removal in May 2025 to the final shutdown in April 2026 gave players a longer runway than most games get when they're being sunsetted. That runway ends April 17.
