This crossover is built to do more than dress up zombies in cyberpunk clothes: it gives Doomsday: Last Survivors a 10v10 mode, a progression track, and an exclusive Motoko Kusanagi skin tied to limited-time collab challenges. For players who have drifted away, that means there is an actual gameplay reason to log back in, not just another banner to scroll past.

The event centers on Shell: Cyber Pursuit and folds Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 into Doomsday’s survival loop through multiple layers. In Posthuman Crisis, players are split into Section 9 and Posthuman sides and fight to destroy the enemy faction’s Tachikoma. Global Network turns the crossover into a reward track built around filling data nodes, while Section 9 Training adds daily missions for extra rewards and experience. Section 9 Reunion pushes challenge objectives that reunite members of Section 9, and 1A84 Virus Study sends players into puzzle stages where they uncover targets and eliminate clue icons. That is a lot more than a costume swap, even if the structure still smells like a time-limited event designed to keep the login streak alive.

The reward pool is where the collaboration gets most aggressive about re-engagement. Beyond the Motoko Kusanagi skin, the crossover includes hero and squad skins, shelter themes, profile items, namecards, chat bubbles, portrait frames, tags, emotes, and hero armaments. Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma are the obvious headline items, but the sheer spread of cosmetics makes this feel like a collector’s season, not a single crossover drop. IGG has also tied in physical merchandise, including a plush, fridge magnets, a T-shirt, a cold cup, and an umbrella, which gives the event the feel of a full promotional campaign instead of a small in-game notice.

The timing and scale make the strategy easy to read. The official collaboration page is live on IGG’s site, and the trailer went up on April 30, 2026 with gift code DLSGITS, valid through May 31, 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Google Play lists the game at 4.5 stars from 2.62 million reviews and says it has topped 50 million downloads, while the store listing also says Doomsday: Last Survivors is available on Android and Windows. The page credits Shirow Masamune, Production I.G, Kodansha, and GITS2045, which underlines how heavily this crossover leans on recognizable Ghost in the Shell branding.

For anyone chasing the Motoko skin, event loot, or a fresh mode rotation, this is worth a return visit now. For everyone else, it reads less like a permanent overhaul and more like a polished, loot-heavy excuse to bring a huge audience back into the shelter for a few weeks.
