Heartopia’s Beaver Build Challenge celebrates creativity and cozy community play
Heartopia’s Beaver Build Challenge adds four-player building, a Fairy Tale Wonderland theme, and rewards for winners while new QoL tweaks smooth daily play.

Heartopia’s latest update gives active players a clear reason to log in now: the Beaver Build Challenge turns cozy decorating into a staged, team-based contest with up to four players per squad, exclusive souvenirs for winning teams, and rewards delivered through in-game mail. Built around a community-chosen Fairy Tale Wonderland theme, the event pushes beyond a simple screenshot contest by letting players build, invite visitors, browse other entries, and spend in-game tokens to participate even if they are not part of a top team.
The event unfolds in four phases. Players eligible for the challenge can form teams from April 25 to May 1, then move into the creation phase from May 2 to May 22, when they can build their entries and explore what everyone else has made. The exhibition phase follows from May 23 to June 5, giving the wider player base time to tour the work on display. The selection phase runs from June 6 to June 19, when winners are announced and rewards are distributed. That structure makes the Beaver Build Challenge feel less like a fleeting seasonal prompt and more like a monthslong community festival with clear stakes at every step.
The same April update also tackled the quieter parts of daily play. Heartopia added pet pathfinding optimization, reduced interference from cats during activities such as cooking, brought new arrivals to the clothing store, and made a round of smaller detail improvements. Those changes matter in a life sim built around routine, because they smooth out the repeated actions that define the genre: moving around the home, managing pets, and drifting between hobbies without constant friction.
That balance between spectacle and polish fits Heartopia’s pitch. The official store descriptions frame it as a multiplayer life simulation centered on creativity, freedom, and peace, with six major hobbies that include fishing, cooking, gardening, and birdwatching. Players can invite friends over and build a dream home together, and the app store and Google Play pages already show live-service event banners and major updates, signaling an active cadence rather than a one-off launch push.
The timing gives the Beaver Build Challenge extra weight. Heartopia went global on January 7, 2026 across PC, iOS, and Android after closed beta tests with data wipes, so this is one of the first major community beats for the new audience. The game’s Google Play presence lists more than 5 million downloads and 101,000 reviews, while the Chinese version, 心动小镇, had already launched publicly on July 17, 2024, showing that XD Entertainment Co., Ltd. is working from a live-ops formula with some mileage behind it.
