Honkai: Star Rail 4.2 brings free 5-star, 20 pulls, anniversary rewards
A free limited 5-star, 20 pulls, and anniversary jades make Version 4.2 one of Honkai: Star Rail’s strongest re-entry patches yet.

A free limited 5-star, 20 pulls, and the anniversary check-in make Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.2 the kind of patch that can flip a dormant account back into daily play. If you have skipped recent banners, this is the update that most clearly answers the one question that matters: is the patch generous enough to move account progress forward without forcing a heavy spend?
HoYoverse’s Version 4.2 trailer, posted on April 10, set the title as So Laughed the Masses and confirmed a global launch on April 22 for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. Version 4.1, which began on March 25 and runs until April 22, already pushed the Planarcadia Trailblaze Mission and introduced the 5-star Ashveil, so the game is moving straight from one story beat into the next without leaving a dead zone between major updates.
The new content is not just a reward dump. Version 4.2 shifts the action toward Seafeld City on the coast of Plancadia, giving the patch a new tower-and-seaside identity, while the combat side widens with two new 5-star additions, Evanescia and Silver Wolf Lv 999. The trailer also listed English voice credits for Yao Guang, Dollie, Silver Wolf, Himeko, Evanescia, Fulwish, Sunday, and the Female Trailblazer, which makes the rollout feel like a full cast event rather than a narrow banner cycle.

The strongest pull for budget players comes from the anniversary package. Festive Gifts returns with a total of 20 pulls, and the third-anniversary day on April 26 brings another major handout, with a blessing card from a companion and 1,600 Stellar Jades. Huohuo and Robin are also being added to the Stellar Convergence Store, a freely claimed Golden Companion Spirit can be exchanged for a companion of choice, and the annual first-time top-up double bonus reset is part of the celebration. A new outfit for Castorice, the online event Aha’s Chosen: Spreading Elation Everywhere, and offline activities in Tokyo, Seoul, and Los Angeles round out a patch built to reward logins before it asks for spending.
For lapsed Trailblazers, that combination matters. The 20 pulls, free limited 5-star, store additions, and reset top-up bonus are the kind of practical incentives that can change whether a return login becomes a short visit or a full re-entry into the game’s daily rotation.
