JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit opens Android beta in select markets
Android players in the U.S., U.K., Canada and France get a May 15 to May 29 shot at Golden Spirit, a JoJo tactics RPG built around Stand battles, weather effects and PvP.

Android players in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and France are the only ones getting a shot at the first closed beta for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit, with recruitment open now and the test set for May 15 to May 29. For JoJo fans deciding whether to chase access this month, that makes the beta the first real chance to see whether this licensed mobile release is shaping up as a serious strategy game or just another franchise skin.
Golden Spirit is being positioned as a strategic RPG with real-time Stand battles, tactical formations, PvE and PvP modes, character progression, and a hybrid presentation that mixes 3D and Live2D visuals. Trailer-related coverage also points to an auto-battler-style combat system, with environmental effects such as weather influencing how battles play out. That combination matters, because it suggests the game is trying to earn attention through systems, not just character art.

The roster is another strong signal. More than 50 JoJo characters are expected to appear across Parts 1 through 6, which gives the game a wide enough cast to pull in fans from different eras of Hirohiko Araki’s series. Yugo Kanno’s involvement on music also gives the project extra credibility, especially for players who care about the anime’s sound and tone as much as the combat loop. In a series where style is part of the gameplay identity, that kind of detail is hard to ignore.
The beta also lands with some history behind it. KLab said in 2024 that the project had been revived with Wanda Cinemas Games after an earlier version stalled because of issues with the prior development partner. KLab had already said in 2020 that it had acquired the mobile distribution rights for JoJo from the production committee, showing how long the company has been working to bring the IP to mobile.
The broader release plan still points to a worldwide launch outside Japan in 2026, and the official Golden Spirit YouTube channel has already started flagging the Android beta as coming soon. For mobile strategy players, that makes this month’s test a meaningful checkpoint: if the formations, Stand battles, and PvP hold up, Golden Spirit could become one of the more ambitious anime SRPGs on the market.
