StudioBSide's Anime RPG StarSavior Launches Globally on iOS, Android, and PC
StarSavior's global servers went live on March 19 with mixed Steam reviews sitting around 46% positive, a rough start for StudioBSide's follow-up to Counter:Side.

StudioBSide, the Korean developer behind Counter:Side, launched StarSavior globally on March 19, 2026. The game casts players as "Captains" leading a party of star-powered girls known as Saviors through a story centered on a unit leader suffering from amnesia who is sent back through space and time to rectify the events of the past and prevent the catastrophic failures of the original timeline.
StarSavior first launched in Japan and Korea on November 20, 2025, following a closed beta test held from July 23 to July 29, 2025. The global expansion added two dedicated servers, Global and Asia, joining the existing Korean and Japanese regions. The global version supports English, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Despite high expectations following its successful run in South Korea and Japan, the worldwide debut has been met with a polarizing response, with the global launch currently holding "Mixed" reviews on Steam at approximately 46% positive and a similar middle-ground sentiment on mobile storefronts. Long-time fans have praised the writing and the "Journey" training mode, which blends rogue-lite progression with character bonding, but new players have highlighted several launch-day issues.
Early global players noted untranslated segments in the beginner tutorials and UI, though StudioBSide has already begun pushing hotfixes to resolve these linguistic gaps. The game's blend of idle resource gathering with a competitive PvP focus has also drawn criticism for heavily favoring spenders, with some players feeling that the gap between free-to-play and paying users is too wide.

At its core, StarSavior offers a tactical turn-based combat system where players exploit elemental attributes and unique Savior traits, with the "Journey" mechanic serving as the standout feature: Captains guide their units through a year-long trial to inherit the power of the Void Star, where narrative choices directly impact stat growth and combat effectiveness.
Players immediately went hunting for coupon codes to grab free resources and gacha pulls at launch. Testing as of the global launch date confirmed all known codes return an expired error and cannot be redeemed. StudioBSide is expected to issue new coupon codes specifically for the Western launch in the coming days, either through their official news page or via social media channels.
StarSavior was first revealed in January 2023 under the working title Project STAR, making the global rollout the culmination of a three-year development arc. Whether StudioBSide can address the monetization friction and polish the localization in the weeks ahead will determine whether the 46% Steam rating has anywhere to go.
