Taimanin Squad Brings 3D Tactical Gacha RPG to iOS, Android, and Steam
Taimanin Squad launched worldwide on iOS, Android, and Steam with a 40% positive rating from 228 Steam reviews at launch.

The Taimanin franchise made its 3D squad-based mobile debut when GREMORY Games published Taimanin Squad worldwide in early March 2026, bringing developer LiLith's tactical gacha RPG to iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. The Steam product page lists a release date of March 4, while the worldwide launch across all platforms was marked as March 5, a one-day split that likely reflects regional rollout timing.
The game casts players as commanders of the Taimanins, a squad of ninja warriors standing as humanity's last line against a demonic invasion. Steam's product description frames the premise simply: "The world is in turmoil as peace is shattered by the emergence of demons." Combat centers on mixing and matching characters to build custom strategies, with growth content layered on top for long-term character investment. The emphasis, according to the original launch announcement, is on "active, tactical combat" rather than the passive, auto-battle style that dominates a lot of the anime RPG field right now.
The gacha backbone is fully present. Steam lists the game as Free to Play with in-app purchases and specifically flags "Chance based in-game purchases" as a content descriptor, the platform's standard language for loot-box or pull mechanics. Players also need to agree to a third-party EULA before accessing the game. Steam additionally tags the title with "Sexual Content," which fits the Taimanin franchise's history and is worth knowing before downloading.
Early Steam reception landed in mixed territory: 40% of 228 user reviews were positive at launch, a rough start that mirrors the reception many gacha titles receive when their monetization model meets PC players expecting different value propositions. The game supports six languages, with English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean offering interface and subtitle support. Japanese gets the full treatment, including complete voice audio, which makes sense given the franchise's fanbase.

"Look, mobile RPG fans clearly still enjoy this kind of thing," PocketGamer's Tanish Botadkar wrote in coverage of the launch. "Squad management, flashy skills, character collection. The genre keeps returning for a reason." That observation holds regardless of the mixed Steam score; the iOS and Android storefronts represent a different audience than Steam reviewers, and the franchise already carries a dedicated following into this new title.
Taimanin Squad is available now on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam as a free-to-play title.
