Uncharted Waters Origin is heading into a hard reset of its live population, with LINE Games scheduling server integration in two phases on April 20 and April 27. The move is meant to create a smoother gameplay environment by pulling players and data off separate servers, while also improving matchmaking and operational efficiency. With SteamDB showing about 624 players in-game at the latest crawl, the merge lands as a direct attempt to thicken the seas and cut down on fragmentation.

The first phase folds Indian Ocean 1, 2, 3 and Coral Sea into a new Caribbean Sea server in the Korea, or World, region. The second phase combines Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean under a single Pacific Ocean server in the Asia region. LINE Games said the exact merge time would be announced later, but the impact on accounts is already clear: on the integrated server, players can select only one character from the characters carried over from the merged servers, and unselected characters will be deactivated and may be difficult to restore. Duplicate Company and Guild names will also be changed, while the merged economy will carry over Ducat, Blue Gem, Red Gem and Mileage.

The consolidation is being wrapped into a wider Great Route pre-season push that began on April 6 at 00:00 UTC+9 and runs through May 10 at 23:59 UTC+9. The Pre-season Shop opened after maintenance on April 8, and the event calendar stretches even further with Great Route Attendance running until midnight on May 12. Players who log in for 14 days during that attendance event can earn Great Route Tokens, which can be spent on items such as Mate Exclusive Gear Selection Voucher and Growth Currency. Tokens can also be earned through Great Route Missions and Great Route Token Hunt.

LINE Games has also stacked the pre-season with older content and new competitive incentives. The event brings back Season 3 Age of Gold Trade Goods, old Season Mates and old enemies such as the Gold Bar Pillagers, while two new Adventure locations offer Grade 26 Ship Materials through land exploration. Designated Ship Inscriptions are being tied to top-tier rewards, including prizes for ranking first by nation, giving the strongest crews another reason to push before the merged structure settles in.

For a free-to-play MMORPG that LINE Games originally released on March 7, 2023, the timing says plenty about where the game is headed. Uncharted Waters Origin still advertises 8 national powers, 200 ports, 60 villages, more than 300 battlegrounds and over 20 weather types, but the April merge makes one thing plain: the publisher wants fewer dead zones, more traffic, and a tighter competitive field to keep the voyage alive.
